I wouldn't put Kell in with the European champion yet. I think a few more defences of his British belt are in order first - I would go Doherty, Hatton, Watson and then move up to European class. He's still young so there's no rush as long as he's not being given pushovers. Perhaps when Jennings gets beat off Cotto then you could stick him in with Brook. I just want to see Kell clean up domestically first because there's a lot of good fights out there, and like I say, he does have age on his side.

Does anyone know what is happening with Nicki Smedly? Another talented kid -needs to fight regularly and he can achieve a lot as well, i think + lets not forget Steve Barnes Jnr. I'm very fond of everyone from Sheffield and its great to see the kids do so well and the established champions coming back -Ryan and Junior.
I was told Dennis Hobson gave Smedley his contract back. Dennis has got a kid called Joe Elfidh who looks a prospect.

Trust me, I've been there, and I know you'll be hurting just as much as Kev.
There's always a light at the end of the tunnel - I've gone up, down, and roundabout with Ry, but what we've always said it's the manner of dealing with a loss that says the right thing about a boxer.
He can, and will come again.
Good luck mate.
No bother mate Cheers
Kev says he was signing up for this Boxrec so he could "dig me out a hole" after me bigging him up
Yea defo coming back obviously just bit shocked with it all
but Boxing is a Cruel sport and hes came back before
He used to get annoyed about getting beat off a Boy called Richard hatton in the Amateurs
Look at him now
All the best
He can definitely come back -he has a good slick style and knows his way around the ring.No shame in losing to Kel at all. He's a big puncher kel and very strong, and time will prove this.

No harm in you bigging him up. we all do it, its the aim of the game.
good luck to kev for the future.

I believe that Kell sparred Sugar Jackson Bonsu over in Belgium and definitely got top-side of him.
He should stay at British title level for a while yet and let the expectations even out.
And don't waste too much time waiting for Smedley to deliver.

IMO That wont happen as Doherty wont fight Kell.

Jackiewicz has a defence lined up at the end of the month, should he win. Maybe Kell could get a look in after that. Its a winnable fight for him.
As for Mcintrye, he's been through lows like this before and comeback. Its a hard defeat that he had. He never recovered from that first knockdown. Kev did show fighting heart to get up from the 2nd knockdown , when that right landed i thought no way would he get to his feet, but he did.
Here's
highlight's of Sugar Jackson vs Rafal Jackiewicz.

Emma, why won't Doherty fight Kell?

kell did spar jackson bonsu in belgium and hear it was very competative and kell came out on top. they have now become friends.
as for doherty fighting kell. he gave it the big one when kell won the british title jumping into the ring but has since pulled out of a british title eliminator against mark thompson and moved down to light welter.
wouln't want kell to fight mattew hatton very over rated and one dimensional

Kel did great over in Belgium, but as everyone in the fight game knows, what happens in the gym should stay in the gym.
Great thing is that new friendships have been formed as well.
Ezekiel is going places - no doubt at all.
And when you think back to all those "biscuit" jibes etc, I have to have a snigger to myself because I have a long memory, and some of those people taking the piss then, are giving it the "I told you so" line now.
Hey but that's boxing - tomorrow's chip paper and all that.

I've never heard that (not saying it isn't the truth - I just haven't heard it). All I know is that's he been cracking on about a fight with Kell and that close fight with McIntyre. If Doherty doesn't want the fight then it won't happen, but I don't know about that.

Dioufy,
Doherty has had more than enough chances to fight Kel, but there's always an excuse.
That's not rumour, it's fact.

This kid could well be the real deal. I wanna see him in with Jennings or Watson first, just to be totally sure. Hopefully the BBBoC put their money where their mouth is and provide the best mandatories for Kell.

He beat Watson no problems. I like to see him fight Jennings next or if not in about Feb against hatton or winner Mutley v O Donnell.

Personally I think making light welter would be too much for him and he would be drained at lightwelter.

kell can make light welter but it kills him. there's hardly any fat on him at welter so would struggle to meet 10stone. if anything he will prob move up to lightmiddle as he grows.

He was just on Bunce's Boxing Hour and said that he's considering moving down. It sounds like he's going to have a trial run, and if he can do it well enough, he'll fight at Light Welterweight. He said he made weight really comfortably against McIntyre.

Emma your opinion on boxing is like me making an opinion on sky diving, ps i dont know nothing about sky diving
That is what the board is about voicing your opinions and discussing boxing. No ones saying you've got to agree with what I say are they?.
anyway seems sheffield boxin agrees with me.

missed bunce's boxing hour today, will be watching replay at 7. i'm not saying kell can't make light welter cus he can but it does drain him. if kell wants to drop down to lightwelter thats his choice and if he doe's ill eat my words. hopefully he can box in sheffield next cus he hasn't boxed hear for a while now.

I'll be very surprised if he drops down to LW.
He is a young kid, and he is still maturing / growing.
If anything, I think he'll be moving up the weights in the next 18 months or so.
