Hatton's poor reach will be less of an issue against Pacman. Hatton will be physically stronger. I think Pacquiao will hit harder with head shots and Hatton will hit harder with body shots.

Defence is the main reason for my choice, in which Hatton is lacking. I predict that Pacquiao will win in one of the later rounds (9 onwards). I'll pick Pacquiao KO 11.

Not hard to beat DLH when he barely does anything and made Welterweight when he's a Light Middle.

Hatton will be too big for him and Manny trading with him will suit Ricky.
Which Manny is
How? He beat washed up Mexicans and the first fresh fighter he fought beat him twice. Marquez Is his master. Hatton Isn't elite either though.
Now that's a really silly argument isn't it?

Let me get this straight, you’re argument is this: Fighter A won a razor thin, disputed decision against fighter B that should have gone to fighter B. Therefore fighter A isn't world class, but fight B is the master.

That is awesome logic. It's like sharing a forum with Mr Spock.

Honestly, Max, you should have a think about what you write before you post it.

Even if we concede that Pacquiao should have lost both, you would have to admit that they were very, very close, right? I mean, I had the first a draw, and the second to Manny by one (6-6 but the KD gave him the edge), but I can accept anyone who would give it to Marquez close, too.

To argue that Manny isn't elite world class when, at the very least, he has taken one of the best P4P fighters of the last 10 years into a life and death, razor thin decision is absurd.

Hmm, I do think there is a way to deconstruct Pac-Man's career just as much as their is Floyd's post Castillo II career.

I don't agree with Max completely, but there is a valid argument to be made from what he does say.

My girlfriend thinks Manny would break Ricky in half, I keep telling her it isn't physically possible to break somebody in half with a punch.

I mean not even superman could do that right :oo

For the record while I think Ricky is stronger, I think Manny is too fast for him and will eventually bust him up after what could be a thrilling fight.

But to be fair Hatton struggles with "slick" southpaws. Pacquiao is a great fighter but he's not exactly what you would call slick. He takes chances which is why he's so popular. Back in his superbantam days he was awfully one-dimensional. But you gotta give great credit to roach for the fighter Pacquiao is now. I like Hattons chances in this fight. Pacquiao likes a bit of room to get his long straight left on. I know its a big "if" but if Hatton can consistently get on the inside he's got a great chance. Hatton has suprisingly good foot speed - he's good at closing the gap. Most likely Hatton would probably take a few too many on the way in but I am pretty confident Hatton would put up a mich better fight than DLH.

It is only possible deconstruct Manny's career to the extent where you class him as sub-elite if you have the most absurdly, unworkably high standards for judging "elite world class", and then decide to play Julius Steicher for the day. And then you'd end up looking plain silly, which Max just did.

And, regarding your allusion that I deconstructed Mayweather's career, I think I called him the best fighter of his generation, didn't I? My argument is that at both 140 and 147 he avoided the challenges that would have seen him transcend his own era and become one of the greatest in any era, which his talent gave him the chance to do.

Don't you think that’s a little different to using the most ridiculous logic in an argument I’ve read since I first glanced at Mein Kampf to arrive at a conclusion that suits a subjective view based wholly in some strange parallel fantasy where gravity works upwards?

Really who did Margarito prove he was a premier 147lber against? Was it stepping up and losing to Santos twice or losing to Williams (and that 1 wasnt too close)? Was it Diaz who was coming off a loss to Mosley? Was it against Lewis who was coming off a loss to Mayorga?

Margarito never beat a top5 operator until he faced Cotto. For the record he turned down Mayweather in April 2006, because he had the massive fight with Manuel Gomez in February 2006, so instead of paying Gomez step aside money or heaven forbid fighting 2 fights in 3months he turned the fight down

As for Mayweather avoiding Mosley in 2006, Mosley was offered the fight in November 2006 but Mosley 'was on vacation and had to get his teeth fixed'.

Before we forget Mayweather was accused of many on here of ducking Hatton from 2005-2007 despite the fact he offered Hatton the fight on 5 occasions according to none other than Ray Hatton.

Calm down, I never alluded to anything actually. I agree with you re Mayweather's post Castillo II career.

AS PN has reminded us however, this wasn't always to do with Floyd.

Incidentally, I still regard Marg-Cotto as the most evenly matched fight of recent times.

Williams-Cotto would also be evenly matched, as would Williams-Marg II.

These fights really need to happen.

If Hatton fights Pacquio he's going to have to be on him all night. None of this new finesse stuff he's been blabbing about since Mayweather senoir joined the camp. Any of that and the Pac Man will be detonating those wicked lefts on him all night long. Hatton has to put the pressure on him, back him up and keep on backing him up. If there is one thing Hatton does great, then its cutting off the ring.

I would have to go with Pacquio after seeing the way he just dominated Oscar, but one thing i am sure about is that Hatton will have a better go at him than De La Hoya did.

I think lots before I post, you underestimate your master.

Marquez won the second fight even wider than the 1st 116-111, I was shocked when they gave It to Pac. He hardly landed anything clean even with his fast volume. Timed counter punchers will beat Pac. The 1st fight Marquez won 10 of the 12 rounds.

Marquez Is the only p4p fighter I've seen on his resume.

Hatton Is going to steam roll Manny being too big and won't just stand In front of him, he'll fight unlike De La Panties.

In fact, I'm slowly starting to see how, Hatton won't be as overawed by Pac as I first thought.

I still think Pac wins however. I need to think about it a bit more.

Hatton will be a lot fresher and nearer his prime than Oscar, he looked very sharp against Malignaggi.

For all the size disparity, Oscar was clearly absolutely dead at 147 - Hatton is still a beast at 140, lest we forget, he has still yet to lose at that weight, and he still seems to have a good engine, if not quite the engine he had 3-4 years ago.

This is an intriguing fight, Manny has speed and terrific punch power, Hatton has brute strength and tenacity. I am not sure who I make favourite, perhaps Manny, but he may have been flatted by that fight with Oscar, the guy he was in against didn't seem to have anything to offer at 147.

If Hatton lets manny tag him too often, he's going to get busted up over the course of the fight, Oscar looked really badly bashed up, and Hatton isn't exactly the most robust in terms of his resistance to cuts and swelling.

Great fight, bring it on, if Manny wins, his career starts to look really incredible. He can be made to look rather pedestrian by a master boxer, but every fighter has their achilles heel. At 140 it will be Hatton's bestial strength at the weight that is the difference, that aside, he would be a big underdog.

The other factor is Roach, he seems to be bringing out the best in Manny, and there will be a proper game plan going into the fight.

I make Manny favourite, but not by much, what a night it will be for English boxing - I for one will certainly go to see it.

And Ricky isn't keen on 3 more fights in total from what the comments have been from Team Hatton earlier this year.

Do you have a link, i'm surprised he's saying that. Maybe he's just trying for a few more pay days

Here's a quote taken from http://www.ironboxing.com/home_article.php?id=89

Mayweather Sr

“If they want Rick, they’re going to get Rick and it won’t end pretty for them.” Floyd Sr. stated empathically.
“I love this fight for Rick. We will dismantle Pacquaio. Guaranteed.”
