Come on mate you know thats a load of rubbish, was you eithen there? It was a close fight and a very good fight, but Rocky Dean Knock him down twice and the ref stopped the fight!!! Not by a cut!!!
You say about davis fighting Rocky Dean in only hes 5th fight what about Dean going all the way to Denmark to fight a undefeated Local and beat him on points in only hes 5th fight (everyone knows how hard it is to win on points in europe. ask Holyfield) So dont start making out davis is the only boxer to have it hard!

Dont want to sound like im sticking my nose in but heres the report of kevin taylor who was at the show from bbn.Stop you pair from getting into it two much.
Rocky Dean was a slow starter against Gary Davis of St Helens and was being caught regularly in the first, one barrage left him sitting in on the bottom rope, but then completely against the run of play a big right put Davis down, up at four he looked to have risen too early and was caught by another right and an uppercut before the end of the round.
Now Dean was well on top and he started to box the way people know he can Davis was cut over the left eye and with Dean getting his jab working well the cut soon re-opened in the third round.
The fourth was only seconds old when another right got through and Davis once more went down, referee Parris jumping in as soon as he went down to stop the fight after just eleven seconds of the round to save Davis from anymore punishment.
You can find the report on BBN if you want to look.

He also said he beat an unbeaten Chris Hooper, incorrect Hooper was 7-3 at the time having been stopped twice.
Since that fight Hooper has gone 0-3-1, with 2 more stoppage defeats.
Also if Davies was the second coming of Juan Manuel Lopez(despite what has been established as to what actually happened in Dean v Davis), then how can the draw against Barrington Brown be explained ?.
No disrespect to Davies but I can't see him getting beyond English title level at the minute, despite his 'power'(to be fair he can actually punch quite hard).

Some of you dudes are seriously overestimating Davies win. Like Martin has said on here, he was more shit than Davies was good. And what the hell did Davies shout at the end, it seemed like "and the new.." - new what?

He is doing good, although I don't see him anywhere near as much as I used to.
The man absolutely loves a beer!

I would love to see Martin get some confidence wins first, even if it's against much inferior opponents, or against blown-up super flyweights. I like a fight against Bell or Moffett personally and then pick up the British title when I think Nape relinquishes it.

Ha, I think I gathered that. Anyways, nice to see you on here - I have seen a lot of your posts but hadn't twigged who you were until now. I must say though, I did enjoy your first fight with Napa and hope there's a trilogy of some sort down the road.

One a piece now so i think there is a good chance of it happening both with Maloney so the fight is made so easy.

Firstly fair dues for coming on Martin, all in all a fair few boxers come on here. You’ve sounded very honest and level headed throughout your posts.
Secondly would you not like a warm up fight before going back in with someone like Napa, just to get the confidence back up and all? Do you plan a quick return to the ring? As he was over a year since the pervious Napa fight before Davis.

Would'nt get in with Napa without a Warm up or 2 the last with Napa i was out of the ring for nearly a year and coming off 2 losses, Would like to get out at the end of Jan on the Napa Bill.
Would like to be kept active having min 4 fights a year. For that to happen i could afford any more slip up and i have to perform...

Davies is an exciting boxer, but is not the most durable even at 6 round level.
Barrington Brown rocked him repeatedly before throwing the fight away. Davies did work hard but was fortunate IMO.

Thanks for answering my questions Martin.
Yeah would like to see you in a warm up fight or two in the next 6-9 months. Hope Frank or whoever gets you something soon enough. Wishing you all the best, will definitely look out for you in your next few fights.

Well stick at it Martin, couple of easy ones and the opportunities will come. Thought about a move to Super Bantam - I am thinking that the commonwealth champion there isn't a munyai... the guy who beat Ward.

Martin(no offence to him) looked a little fat at 121(a lb inside the SB limit), he would be needlessly giving away a size advantage there and Super-Bantamweight is a stronger division anyway. Power at his best is European level at Bantamweight but at Super-Bantamweight he'd be just domestic level.
He mentioned he could probably make Super-Flyweight if he had to and in truth that mightn't be a terrible option.
If he's strong at the weight he definitely has the class to beat anyone in Britain at the weight and could become a two weight British champion.
I think an Irish Bantamweight title fight against Colin Moffett would be a good idea for power, although maybe an easy 6 rounder to settle him back into winning ways if it is planned to keep him active and then go for Moffett.
