When Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio of Mexico challenges WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik on February 21st, the bout will take place in Pavlik’s hometown at the 7,000-seat Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Pavlik will begin training Monday at the new Southside Boxing Club in Youngstown. Rubio, the official WBC mandatory and rated WBO #3 is presently training at the Municipal Gym in the mountains of Temoaya, Mexico at more than nine thousand feet above sea level. No it will be in Atlantic City

If this fight is confirmed, I'll probably head acrosss to Atlantic City to catch it.

Emerson - shame I missed you at Jones v Calzaghe, be good to catch up at this one.

For the record, I think Cotto walks through Mike in 3 at most.

It is at MSG. Boxrec's site has it listed as such, as well as ESPN.com

Apparently it is going to be announced next week. From what I heard, it depended on whether John Duddy was going to be on the undercard. If he is, it's the Garden, if not, AC.

Personally not sure why Jennings has got this chance - Cotto IMO will destroy him.

Jennings isn't even really top ten in Britain where as Cotto is one of the best p4p fighters.

jennings in his interviews sounds like a rabbit in the headlights - he says he's going over to win, but when he speaks it's clear that he knows he's on to a big loss with this one. One way traffic i reckon and an early stoppage.

Fair play to the lad for a pay day though.

Wonder what some of the better Brit pros make
of jennings gettin a shot. I don't believe he's actually
scared of cotto, physically, just about being beaten and found
out as probably a good British title level fighter. I think he'll
do a lot better than some people have posted on the net. Some of
it has been a bit harsh, really.

It looks a very, very hard fight for him to win but I think he will give a better account than people think. One thing for sure he will give his all.

If Jennings can get on the back foot he will certainly make Cotto work. Rememeber Cotto took a shelling in the second half of his last fight and went over without being hit at the end. What happened against Margarito could play on his mind.

I am not getting at anyone but some people on forums give fighters a hard time when they are built up on European standard fighters and journeymen but when they show a pair of gonads and step up criticise. If Jennings isn't ready for a big fight now, when will he be?

Lets get behind the lad

Exactly. I'm sure many fellow pros have written off his chance but would love the bloke to pull it off. If he did win it would match Stracey beating Napoles

Don't get me wrong, i'll be rooting for the lad and would love to see an upset, but just think it's a mis-match - here's hoping i'm wrong.

Josh Clottey - Kermit Cintron is on the undercard. What a cracker. Lets see if Clottey can take the Cintron bombs and wear him down the way The Terminator did.

Jennings is the best welterweight in Britain so he thoroughly deserves his chance.

I don't agree at all. Being the best in Britain doesn't qualify anyone to fight for a vacant 'world' belt. IMO he doesn't deserve it and is getting the shot mainly due to Fwanks relationship (whatever that means) with the WBO.
That said, he's a nice lad and a good fighter so I hope he gives a good account of himself.
I still can't see Cotto losing a single minute of this though, he is different class.
