Cobb showed bravery and a great chin but it was as horribly a one-sided as affair as you are likely to see. at world championship level

I'd be interested to know what the pre-fight odds were on that bout.

Cosell went a little over the top too early and because Holmes couldn't or wouldn't put Cobb away he had to carry on the macabre commentary.

Cobb had TKO'd Shavers and lost close fights to contenders in Norton and Dokes so we can't begrudge him his shot. He was unlucky to come up against a peak Holmes. If Larry had smashed him like he smashed Leon Spinks then Cosell might have carried on as a commentator so at least we have that to be thankful for as Tex has mentoned.
