Good job by Monroe.

Looks like Maloney (my take from the Buncey show) will keep him away from the real heavy hitting names in the division and look toward decent euro title defences and creating a nest egg for the lad. If an opportunity opens up for him then I'm sure Maloney will push him forward.

How was the undercard? Both the Heywood and Buckland bouts seemed to be surprisingly one sided.

I'm posting a report on BBN later but Olusegun was a couple of levels above Haywood and justified his 6 ranking with the WBC and Buckland had too much and won every round but Docerty gave everything and pushed Buckland to bring his 'A' game.

Pretty good fight, and importantly a darn good Friday Fight Night. If only every week could have a European title fight, young up and comer, and a couple of other main supporting fights.

A shame they didn't show much of the Haywood and Celtic title fights, but from what I saw (and heard), the Haywood fight wasn't that good.

I don't think Munroe gets the respect he deserves, especially from our Irish friends - He did a good job last night, and deserves plaudits for working over Martinez more comfortably than last time.

He's keeping busy as well, which is good.

Fair play to Munroe, a good win and you would imagine they will be keeing an eye on the world scene now he has ruled the roost at European level. Dunne's first defence when he beats Cordoba perhaps? 8)

I think that Monroe can handle himself in world class, he did a very professional job last night, which shows a growing maturity in his boxing.
The superbantams is the toughest division at top level, Vazquez, Caballero, Marquez and Lopez all hold the major titles. Any of them would start a big favourite, but they would against any of the contenders.

*It's MUNROE lads, were not talking about Marilyn Monroe here, haha.

As for the fight, was decent and watchable, much better than the first fight. Munroe is gradually getting better at the euro level but he does seem to lack KO power as he had Martinez wobbled at the end and couldn;t finish him, just like in the Martirosian fight I went to see.

At world level that lack of power and sometimes carelessness with hius defence could get him caught out, I think he's done well to get to euro level, could maybe win a lesser world belt but he's not good enough for the main world players at Super-Bantam imo as it;s quite a competitive and classy dvision at the world level.

Would tend to agree, but there are some decent fights for him at the Euro level - Dunne if/when Cordoba beats him, Hunter, the winner of Marsh/Moran, maybe even Maludrottu if he's moved up. All of those are winnable, even if Munroe starting as favourite may be debatable. A few more defences of the Euro belt, and he'd a have little to lose if he gets ranked #1 and a world title crack comes along.
