Sligo, are u a manchester resident?, where did you hear about the weigh in?

I decided to go as I was always curious where they held these things. I saw in some old articles about Khan weigh in at the Arndale so I contacted them on the off chance. They confirmed to me this is where it would be held.

I don't make a habit of frequenting allegedly allegedly's website.

Was it well publicised??, where did you hear about it?? as from up here in Darlington it all seems pretty clandestine to me.

How is it possible in this day and age to make a fckin 5 hour round trip just to see Barrera weigh in and end up in the fckin wrong place. I have been sick as a parrot all day.

Thanks for the pictures though to everybody who put some up :TU:
yeah I live in Manc

it was on here since Wednesday that it was on in the Triangle - sorry you missed it man!

Poor kid is only 22 and already people talking about this being nail in his career which is quite frankly ridiculous.
Actually, I heard Freddy Roach told Khan. That he should think about doing something else other than boxing if he doesn't beat Barrera.

It is a ridiculous risk for Khan. Personally feel Barrera is going to wom.

Khan is way way too inexperienced for Barrera.

Looks like MAB is expecting an early night of just here for the payday.

:shame:

He has to knock Amir out in the first half of the fight or he loses a wide UD.

Yeah Khans legs look very solid, he is a bit leaner up top, which is not a bad thing for him, he is effectively a long armed boxer, he has been over muscled in the past.

Does anyone think the photo shows the scar still visible above and below Barerra's right eye.

I think this fight might come down to what breaks first. Khan's chin or what appears to be scar tissue around Barerra's right eye.

Bloody good point - do you see the fight where both fighters will simply slug it out from the off for the reasons you have cited above?

Where has this 15 days of training coming from? Sky reported that Barrera was in training in January?

Well, Barerra has always been a counter puncher so he wont be rushed. What I dont know is if Khan was affected mentally by the Prescott wipeout. The Fagan fight was one thing, but now he knows he is back in with a genuine puncher, will it affect his attitude and make him ultra cautious? Khan needs to be cautious, quick punches, in and out, in clusters. A good double jab is a must, target that scar tissue.

There might be a bit of a stand off early on.

I cant see Khan throwing too much caution to the wind. If he does, he's out.

Barerra KO 4 or Khan on cuts stoppage.

Barrera struggled to make the weigh in !!

Apparently, Barrera struggled at the weight in and had to be weighed twice and then strip naked the second time, to make the weight. He was 3 oz out, the first time he stood on the scales and according some boxing journalists i have read this morning, looked tired and drawn.

Barrera should'nt have trouble making the weight, surely ? Something is odd about this fight !!

Did anybody go or see the weigh-in on tele ? If so, what did you think ?

Yeah that's right John, check the video over at Sky, that scar over his left eye is going have Khan's jabs crashing onto it from the off

I did think he was carrying a little excess weight, not heard he had to strip to make weight though.

see for yourself:

It was Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail, who said that he looked tired and drawn, as if he had been sweating off some pounds at the hotel that morning. He more or less said that the outcome of the fight could be seen in the shape Barrera was in, ie, not very good, in his opinion. He thought that Khan should win by a points or late stoppage, unless Barrera conected with Khan's chin.

He made out that Barrera was like Butterbean and had the stature of a 90 year old man :D

Having seen the video, Barrera, whilst not really toned or muscular, looks in good shape and he did'nt look draw, tired or apprehensive, which was another thing that Jeff Powell said. Having thought about it some more, i have known Jeff Powell to speak scrap in the past, so it should have been no suprise, but when i read his coments, i had'nt seen the weight-in.

I'm just worried that Barrera will be chasing Khan, not catch him and get picked off. I feel that is what will happen, although in the league, i have gone for a Barrera win by TKO 6th. Minus 3 for me then

What a crap prediction by Jeff Powell, Barrera losses unless he connects with Khans chin!!

So on Monday he can write how he predicted the outcome, no matter what it is

hahhahahha good point!

I thought looking at the video that it looked a bit like man against boy - a teenager against a real man.

yeah he is far to unexpreinced a gaisnt MAB. Barerra is used to these type of fights. what sets MAB to khan is that he fought world champs not khan. i reakon MAB wil win this .wait till khan makes one mistake then barerra will be onto him like a skin rash.

You know DG you could well be right. My prediction is Khan gets nailed about round six after getting careless but another scenario is looking more and more likely. If Khan fights a clever fight and lets MAB do all the chasing, we could see Barrera knackered having failed to land a big punch. Khan could then get the win as you say by a wide UD. Trading with MAB would be his downfall.

MAB said he did 15 days training before comming here, so its his words not a report from elsewhere.

Barrera doesn't look right at 135lbs. All the Sky boys are saying he's whipped himself in shape, whereas I think he looks soft at the weight. Like I have said previously, Khan's going to stop Barrera - £30 at the bookies backs me up.

Its a strange thing to admit to! "Hey Amir I am not in shape"

I hope he means 15 days of sparring.
