Good post. Fury was getting press coverage for a number of years before turning pro or getting on TV, just cos he's a big lad with talent, who is the son of an ex-pro and bare knuckle fighter. Its good to see a prospect like Fury boxing regularly on TV. For years British HWs have been awful to watch - the saga of Harrison, Sprott and Skelton, always fighting and losing to each other - so slow, such poor stamina, such limited and boring fighters. Now Im not saying Fury will go further or indeed reach British level, but for a novice who is 6'8 he is very fast, keen, seemingly inteligent and mixes up his punches well. In interview he seems a decent lad, who has confidence, desire and an opinion. Personally can't knock him. Those armchair pundits who sit their on their laptops writing up their reservations and criticisms are doing what they always do, giving themselves far too much credit as boxing hardcore fans and experts. Remember its a sport and entertainment - enjoy it. There are plenty of current and ex pros who are praising Fury, which to an extent makes a mockery of some of the jobworths on here who think they are all knowing, yet have never set foot in a ring.
Some people are never happy.
I look forward to some decent British Heavyweight dust ups over the next 18-24 months that DON'T involve Sprott, Harrisson, Skelton and Williams!

lets get one thing clear
the only reason Tyson fury is being steered towards top billing and major exposure in the space of just 3 fights is because hes big....he seems nice...hes white and hes called Tyson Fury !
he's an arm puncher ..and just like Dave Howe...and Scot Belshaw he has absolutely nothing at all in his game.....and all the people bigging him up are just being silly, like they were with belshaw and howe.
he is not very good
however i can see him winning the brit ..common...euro and possibly one of the world titles

Lol what a load of bollox - why do you even watch boxing. Your critique is that he is not very good yet you caveat that by saying he will probably win the British, Commonwealth or European belts. If he does the latter then he would have achieved a lot.

I'm Confused,What Standards does a boxer have to be,to be a very good boxer in your Opinon ?

i think if we're going to discuss Tyson Fury we need to have a sense of humour.
atm his biggest challenge is living down the fact that he almost knocked himself out.
