Just typical, Khan beating up such a smaller guy, who is past his best, too slow and just too old.

I can't believe so many people picked Barrera.

:shame:

That's about the most rounded conclusion I've read on here post fight. Some people have a fixation on this preconception that Khan was meant to enter the ring and become Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

Cut was a shame - Barrera was old - Khan looked improved. End of story.
Those two work hand in hand. I think Khan looked improve simply because MAB is over the hill.
That is WEAK! How can you say Barrera being old = Khan looked improved. Khan was noticeably improved by his stylings. Barrera being crap didn't have an influence on Khan bringing up his guard after punching? That is Roach's work paying off.

This is bull shit! That cut was horrific and it should have been stopped after the second round. It looked no worse after four than it did after two.

Should have been a no contest!!!

Kahn won every round and looked sharp, but still that cut was awful and Barrera was at a complete disadvantage

NO CONTEST

A real shame about the cut in the first round, hard to know who would have won otherwise, Barrera was spurting blood big time and couldn't see, and was very demoralised. Khan looked very good, but we just cannot be sure about what would have happened.

Khan looked much improved anyway. Barrera will probably still get a title shot.

The. Fight. Didn't. Prove. Anything.

I'm not giving him any credit for doing what he was doing all through his career till Prescott. Naturally smaller men either well-past their best or never that good.

Two of them nearly chinned Khan and, if Barrera hadn't been cut, who knows?

I want to see him fight a proper, prime, talented, punching lightweight who didn't start at a lower weight, if possible.

But, I bet this wont happen. Warren's hoping JMM vacates and he can put Khan into an eliminator well away froma genuine threat. The title will mean nothing unless Khan beats an actual titlist.

Waste of time. I bet they will always avoid putting Khan in an even fight.
He won't take that WBO shot unless Marquez vacates for the Pacquiao/Hatton winner.
Marquez will vacate.

Barrera was not slow, hes 1 of the faster LW punchers if anything, he was slower than Khan and waited to counter as he always does, this Barrera's counters gave loads of trouble to Marquez and Pacman and I had him beating Marquez. The difference is Barrera could counter Pacman and Marquez but he couldn't counter Khan. The cut did affect Barrera but it wouldn't have made that much difference, Khan was doing the same thing to him prior to the cut and Khan's movement, speed, timing, defense were phenomenal.

Khan is a genuine challenger to Marquez now and if he beats Marquez to the punch the same way he beat Barrera to it and get out he can beat JMM too. Marquez doesn't have much over MAB at this moment in time
Care to explain why? In JMM last two fights he was knocking out Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz, two of the top guys in the division. MAB on the other hand was beating a 25-17 fighter and a guy who was 1-7.

Khan certainly put on a good show and he boxed flawlessly, but I wont be convinced until he beats a young, hard hitting, top 20 guy. He has world class talent but its all about the chin with him and MAB is a guy who was never going to test that.

Oh, there's nothing more certain. Khan vs Arthur in a vacant title shot - joke.

Pissing blood from a massive cut which obscured his vision, much smaller and older than Khan, the boy wonder couldn't get rid of him.

Would have been interesting had there not been a cut and it had gone into the second half of the fight.

You have to consider his opposition - I'd look great firing punches off against a toddler. A young, pre-prime Khan battered an old, faded legend.
You versus a toddler is hardly comparible to Khan VS Barrera, poor analogy.

As I keep saying; Barrera was past it, the cut was unfortunate and awful, Khan seemed improved. I'm not saying Khan is superman, far from it.
Really? Here was me thinking it was dramatic overstaement for comic effect... you clearly were too busy being an idiot.

You can't say Khan is improved if neither of his last two opponents have been able to test him. End of discussion.

Good work by Khan but the head clash spoiled it. we didnt learn anythn new about Khan except the gloves r up a bit. Still no chin, still no out and out power and still no chance against the champs of this weight
Very true,

But to listen to Sky Sports, Johnny Nelson, Jim Watt, allegedly etc etc, you would think that Khan is at world class level and ready to take on the "elites" of the division.

Barrera looked as he did in his last fight and i thought he looked shot then. This just confirms it !!

But even before the cut he seemed to cope with him. Yes, the cut hampered him, but I reckon Barrera would've been beat regardless.

Are you slow? Obviously they work hand in hand. A top 30 guy looks far better against a club fighter than he does against the world champion. This was a case of Khan being put in against a smaller guy past his prime, and when you compare that with a young power puncher like Prescott, of course he is going to look better.

It is very easy to look improved when your opponent inst throwing anything back, Khan had his hands up until he was hurt by Prescott, and MAB was never going to hurt him.

You are judging that on the 60 seconds before the cut, based on the fact Khan didn't get KOd? :-?

MAB beat Marquez when they fought for my money, look at my posts after that fight if you think I'm BS'ing, MAB scored the far cleaner better punches against Marquez, floored him, yes as of the moment MAB is probably more faded than Marquez, but they are similar fighters of a similar age

Agreed though Khans needs to fighter bigger, younger fresher LWs, but the kids only 22yo with only 21 fights, this is a massive win for him, remember who Hatton was fighting as a 22yo?
