prescott would be my 1st choice, or either john murray or john thaxton have a good british fight

I dont see warren risking a rematch with Prescott just yet. After seeing Prescotts last fight i think Khan could def beat him if he dont get caught again. Khan has said himself that he dont want JMM yet anyway and wants a few more fights before reaching that level.
Katsidis is a good fighter and can be knocked out. He can punch though but if khan is gona step up he's gona have to fight big punchers. I heard warren say that they are aiming to fight Paulus Moses or Yuri Romanov for a title very soon.
Romanov is a big risk. That guy is an absolute monster puncher - and tough as hell. I'd be surprised to see Romanov on that list for a while yet.

There's no way on god's green earth Khan will rematch barrera now, they've got their win, and they would no way risk fighting Barrera again now.

It does - because it has a credible belt, a way of getting past the jibes that he ducked Jono and an opponent who isn't exactly a puncher to recommend it...
and some who got knocked down against Thaxton so will be there for Khan to tee off on. Marvellous.

Yes romovou would give khan soo much probs in the ring .that he would end up getting Ko'd by romovou.

Theoretically Khan could beat the stumpy, not so mobile Romanov with speed and movement.

You can also beat him by pushing him back - as Earl did - if you get him at the right time.

Romanov may have a world title soon. But his power and accuracy and poise make him a risk. Also, say Khan wins. His mandatory would probably Ali Funeka, that massive, gangly South African who nearly beat an over the weight Nate Campbell. Funeka would easily be able to reach the Khan chin and cancel it out. I think the IBF title is out of bounds. WBO all the way!

Surely they cannot have the gall to stick him in with Mazaache and PPV too!

JMM is too good as this juncture; Katsidis hits too hard; so does Prescott; Murray perhaps? Barrera rematch? Unlikely.

Mazzache makes alot of sence euro champ that doesnt hit too hard. That would be my pick if i was warren unless a easy wbo shot appears.

Others to consider phillip Ndou i think could be possibility, he has been over here before however may be a bit too strong for kahn but that could be said about alot of fighters. Frank will say he is past the uk scene and thaxton doesnt make sence without the belt considering who has it.
i dont remember aldo rios being too great is he rated high by any org?
Does any know know much about Paulus Moses?
Alex Arther would sell tickets and could be a possibility for a vacant WBO belt if it became avalible.
See how the katisdis , Chavez fight goes in 2weeks (i think) if chavez can outlast katisdis then he could well be the next fight. If he gets blasted out then forget about both of them no way frank would risk that happening to kahn

so my picks are

mazzache
Chavez (if he wins)
Arther
Ndou
Mosses (unless he is a terrible titlist with no decent mandatory comming up then put him level with arther)

i should have been more specific when i started this topic ! first of all i do not like amir khan . I think he is 1 of the most overrated boxers in gb ... secondly i hope warren does put him in the ring with a "world class fighter" because then it will show the world just how bad he actually is !!!

yes if that the case khan would get Ko'd. warren would not allow that. it has be a super featherweight or a washed up figther. who was a former world champ.
even if Khan does get a prescott rematch. again prescott would ko khan. that guy hits hard .or khan can win by points. but again it will NOT show us that khan can fight the best LWs in the world.

Khan will get ko'd and outboxed in one go. if its someone like romovou or a katidis. then khan will be in for a nasty shock. he will get ko'd cold by the both of the 2.
the problem with khan is .he is over hyped coz of the silver medal still not proven to the real boxing fans that he is the real deal.
also his china chin is factor as well. the only thing khan has is fast hand speed.

Khan doesn't just have fast hands. He has great skills, technique, footwork and decent power. The only let downs are his defence, which has improved, and his chin, which he can't really do much about.

With a great chin Khan would be an absolutely amazing prospect.

I'd like to see him fight Thaxton for a title eliminator then if he gets through that fight Murray for the Lonsdale belt. :box:

Why would he face Thaxton?

Murray, fair enough.

but he beat Earl in 70 seconds, who beat Thaxton.

Khan wont be put in with Katsides or :o Valero - There is just no way a puncher, of any discription is gonna be allowed to fight Khan atm.

Khan opponents criteria will stricky be:

- Old name fighter, or
- Smaller fighter coming up in weight and
- DEFINATELY not a puncher.

Same FW matchmaking tactics tbh.

I see the forum retards are out in force on this thread.

How people who profess to be fans of the sport can know so little about promoting or management is beyond me.

Who said he should do in with Katsidis? Who?? And what about Marquez??

So, you have a kid who probably has chin problems, and has certainly exhibited them in the past. His experience at world class level has been restricted to one five round affair with a naturally smaller man past his prime and restricted by cuts. He looked superb, and on the way to solving his technical problems, but still, there were mitigating circumstances and we can’t know for sure based on those five rounds. He has never faced a quality pressure fighter.

Further, he’s a golden goose. He can be a superstar, but needs to be nurtured and his promoter will want to protect his investment and play it safe for the big payoff. He’s raw and needs to be matched carefully to continue his development. He needs to be tested, not destroyed.

So of course it stands to reason that posters here are arguing that he should be matched -- in his what? 22nd or 23rd fight? -- against a big punching, hyper-aggressive hardened pro like Katsidis or one of the best two pound for pound fighters in the world, Juan Manuel Marquez, who also happens to be a very heavy hitter at 135.

Yay! Smart thinking, folks.

No wonder serious managers and promoters pay no attention/get irritated by the internet imbeciles which populate boxing forums.

Apologies to those who gave intelligent answers -- or even ones that required any thought -- but I’m sure you know who you are and that I wouldn’t include you.

Marquez is 35 now, I wouldn't expect to see him in with Khan until he is about 38, presuming Khan stays in the mix and JMM is suitably softened up in that time. Until then I expect it will all be about WBO/WBU titles and defences unless FW is feeling 'chancy'.

khan vs prescott 2 if he has really changed the way he says then get in there with prescott again i rekkon hell get banged out again or barrera 2 would be good

yes the problem with khan is his chin. yes he has improved under roach. the win over MAB proves nothing to me. wait till he face romovou or Diaz .he will in for a nasty suprise though. or Funeka .he would take khan to skool though. i mean even if its murray for the britsh title. nah i reakon warren wants him to take thr european title first though.beofre going for the world title shot.

I'm not saying they have to mate, its just what I'd like to see. I think there are a few talented British lightweights who could give Amir some good testing fights which I think he would benefit from before he fights for a world title.
