Was thinking John McDermott but he has a fight with Danny lined up

Weeks notice also applies to Fury lol - point is that he fighting regularly and if he wants a fight with only a few weeks notice, its a short duration for both Fury and his opponent.

Weeks notice does not apply to TYSON because he would know he is fighting and would be in the gym...

Yeah, props to Fury, but Ellis didn't give himself a chance - he literally just stood there. That's why I criticised him, mate.

First time I had seen Fury live and any new fighter that uses the jab is always gonna get my interest. I think fledgling boxers that neglect the jab deserve a custodial sentance

I know what your saying mate but I personally cannot criticise cos I think he is doing the right think as a novice in fighting each month. good for him if he is keeping active, there are plenty of other boxers who are active. Personally think he should keep doing the same for a while - fighting regularly.

I know there wasn;t much to comment on, but Fury's jab looked good.

Well Tyson can only beat whats in front of him and on paper Ellis looked a step up.

I think he is doing well fighiing as often as he is - but he has to stop the chat because it is losing him fans.

If Ellis was a good enough opponent for Enzo then he was a good enough for Fury's 5th fight.
The way Ellis crumble wasnt Fury Fault,on paper,this was a good step up for a 5th fight novice.

I havn't heard anything about him since the Pianeta fight - he had big problems with a damaged hand in that fight and was easily outboxing Pianeta without throwing a single right. Would be a good opponent to test Fury nonetheless.

I know there are boxing fans out there who have strong opinions on this type of thing, but I dont have a problem with it. Of course, you get some boxers who just simply come across as pure bastads, then you get some who are showmen and cocky. The latter never bothered me either; was always a fan of Eubank and Naseem :)

Well, Ellis wasn't good enough for Enzo, he was called up about 12 hours before the fight as he's the only one that wanted it.

How many fights will it take for Furys opponenets to be judged just on their merits?

What I mean is when wil people stop saying for his x fight, this oppenent is ok etc etc. Is it after 10 bouts? 15? After he wins a title?

Ellis was cynical matchmaking at its very worst. Reinds me of the con trick that Harrison played with regrads to Shawn Robinson(i.e fought and beat him in his 7 fight and was boasting that he did in 7 fights what it took Danny 25 fight to do, knowing full well the cicumstcnes were different)

Well we will have to agree to disagree - with only five fights in total I have been happy with his opponents, who have all had relatively more experience than him. I agree though that after tonight he needs a sterner test, a steeper learning curve to match his abilities.

It is all relative mate - Fury is a novice and he has fought relatively decent competition thus far, but has proven to be better. However, with that comes an expected steeper learning curve. He is always gunna have asize advatage cos he's a giant.

I did say that Ellis was a good step-up and I still believe that, even though he was crap tonight. And yes, I understand that Fury will always have a height advantage, but I think it's time he fought someone above 240lbs next, regardless of their talent or record.

Ellis wasn't elderly and has fought at British title level or higher a number of times. That enough is 'good enough on paper'.

The talk shouldn't annoy people too much as he's walking the walk, every month. Talk and no action should be criticised.

He is a giant so him having an easy time with much smaller boxers will start to look like playground bullying so partly for aesthetic reasons i agree that he should be match up with large immovable lumps rather than a Danny Williams or Sprott in his 6th fight ( )
He needs a few Derek McCafferty types that simply can't be blown out.

How about Julius Long, Lance Whitaker or Corey T-Rex Sanders (if his not completely blind/retired) for the Froch undercard fight? They match up size wise and but are still rubbish and Fury could look good finishing them.

Shouldn't they be building him up by using the same sort of opposition that the eastern europeans are brought through against, I mean there must be a reason why the heavyweight division is dominated by eastern europeans.
