Nothing to see here folks, it was just one of those bad stoppages.
Totally unbiased refereeing and he may well have stopped Joshua in a similar fashion.

He didn’t have a chance to stop Joshua in a similar fashion. It was a bad stoppage, as I’ve said repeatedly. It doesn’t make it corrupt. Do you honestly believe the ref was bought?

Last Sunday Daigo Higa made Thomas Masson QUIT to keep a 100% record
Today Phil Edwards jumped in to give Joshua a stoppage to maintain his 100% KO record, Vs a Frenchman...
Suggestion...watch Daigo Higa, Andrew Selby apparently wants him...

Amidst all the Sky bollocks I think Bellew is a breath of fresh air - very impressed by him tonight. Obviously turns into something different when promoting his fights but speaks his mind and knows the game.

That’s a different question entirely.
Do you think he was bought, that’s the point you replied too.

i mean how do we really know for sure when they 'buying' would happen close doors? not saying he was, but also dont think we should dismiss possibility that some officials are.

It's a business I suppose. But he doesn't half talk balls. Adonis Stevenson destroyed him.

I do not believe judges or officials are bought.
Influenced through treatment possibly, but a genuine cash payment for a card or stoppage? Nah, far too risky.

Yes. Though this is weakness on their part. I do not believe for a second people like Hearn throw cash at anyone, it’s too risky for a multimillion pound business.

Despite acting like a knob, when calling a fight he is decent.
Unlike Froch (excellent fighter) who had to say tonight was not stopped early to validate the Groves 1 stoppage!!!

Would like to see a rematch of this fight
Guess we'll never see that .
I get people saying it was an early stoppage. But a rematch? Joshua won every round and totally dominated.
You see I don't think he did "totally" dominate and it was obvious tactics of Takam to take the fight late .
Stamina issues will definitely be the ruin of Joshua and Takam is the ideal type of opponant to test that .
After the bullshit stoppage, he deserves more than that .
Other than Wilder at the moment what other fight would sell anyway ?

A payment through treatment not a payment all the same?

The cut wasn't bad at all. Yet the ref called the doctor in 3 times. Which I don't understand. That was a very poor stoppage the last 2 shots missed and Takam weaved the last shot. He wasn't in any trouble at all. He wasn't going to get stopped.
The only saving grace was Takam wasn't going to win.

Bought is a general term which includes the type of treatments that you mention. It also includes promises of future work for a good performance and various other ways of influencing a referee such as young attractive female visitors to hotel rooms and discretely placed watches in dressing rooms

I'm not naïve enough to believe brown envelopes don't pass hands in most sports. Ultimately AJ is a cash cow and when the home advantage is there it will be exploited.
The outcome of an AJ win wasn't really in doubt. Takam will come back as a gatekeeper. I really want Fury to get back and take this sport seriously, but if he doesn't I would understand. Lot of shysters, con men and underhand crap in the game

I've nothing against Joshua as a boxer, but the sheer level of corporate cheerleading around him makes me want to see him lose. They're doing him a disservice. Bruno's similar treatment was always away from the ring, and his fights were presented with relative impartiality.
