Casuals aren't in charge of The Ring rankings, Mickey.
The recognised p4p #1? No, I don't think he did.mickey1975 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 08:54Tyson lost that when in retirement.
Therein lies the issue with Ruiz Jr; every time he's spoken about, it always has to be prefaced with 'fit and focused'.coneye wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 08:42 Well this one can go around and round and around again , thing is no one will ever convince Yourself Mickey or Doofus that Fury still has question marks over him , and you know what fair enough becuase he's big and he's good , Aj well too be honest my view is that boat has sailed , i really did think that in his heyday he would off stopped Fury ,, Basing that on he hits hard maybee not one punch ko like Wilder , but hard enough to damage and hurt , technicly he was'nt too bad but more importantly he was pushing the same size has Fury and he was confident ,, then the little fat fella came along and showed the way and stopped him , that fight i believe wqs the beginning of the end for AJ his confidence was shot , he never got over it , split with his trainer and all the time spending his hrs either on paid holidays or promoting his sponsors and his brand (himself ) he just went down hill very fast , Unless he can start again and do things properly he's finished , theres still time for him but wether or not he makes good in that time who knows ,
Now Fury he really should be up there but i don't think he's has confident has he makes out , his lack of willing right through his carreer to take on the good fighters when there prime has been the only thing about him thats consistent , except for the singing and promoting himself ,,, wheres the Ruiz , wheres the Ortiz , and tell you what i've been consistant all along when i've said Ruiz in shape , motivated , and a will to win stops Fury and i still believe that , especielly the one pounch grab hold style that Fury has developed , a fast puncher with good footwork and a good dig will make him pay , and Ruiaz is all of them .
But we will never know because Fury has always refused to fight the good guys , he prefers rematches with guys he's beat , shame because he does have the goods to cement a great legacy ,, but if he finishes tomoro or does;nt fight Usyk his legacy will be , one old heavyweight who was ripe for the taking who he would'nt rematch , and one hard puncher who's only attribute was a hard punch and a padded record , who he wanted to fight time and again ,
and like i said i don't believe he will fight either Jocye or Usyk
Man was Ruiz disappointing in the rematch. The handful of times he got close enough to AJ to exchange he clearly had far too much for him, but with his belly bigger than ever, he managed that only a handful of times all night.Syntax Error wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 06:17Therein lies the issue with Ruiz Jr; every time he's spoken about, it always has to be prefaced with 'fit and focused'.coneye wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 08:42 Well this one can go around and round and around again , thing is no one will ever convince Yourself Mickey or Doofus that Fury still has question marks over him , and you know what fair enough becuase he's big and he's good , Aj well too be honest my view is that boat has sailed , i really did think that in his heyday he would off stopped Fury ,, Basing that on he hits hard maybee not one punch ko like Wilder , but hard enough to damage and hurt , technicly he was'nt too bad but more importantly he was pushing the same size has Fury and he was confident ,, then the little fat fella came along and showed the way and stopped him , that fight i believe wqs the beginning of the end for AJ his confidence was shot , he never got over it , split with his trainer and all the time spending his hrs either on paid holidays or promoting his sponsors and his brand (himself ) he just went down hill very fast , Unless he can start again and do things properly he's finished , theres still time for him but wether or not he makes good in that time who knows ,

It should be a given that a top 5 HW is fit and focused, but not so with him.
I am a fan of his, he has all the ability in the world, but he has let himself down and should have achieved more.
Unfortunatly both you and Syntax are both correct ,, i'm a big fan of Ruiz , like the way he moves his feet , knows his distance , punches well and hard , tough guy to boot , is probably one of the better heavyweights out there , Yet he is a big under acheiver , who has over acheived ,dookus wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 08:18Man was Ruiz disappointing in the rematch. That's a Tuesday.
He should have fought Wilder 5 years before but boxed Povetkin instead.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 04:45 Aj should fight zhang march/April, Whyte august and wilder December.
Big Doofus, genuine question: are you still confident of Uysk vs Fury going ahead?BigDoofus wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 05:45He should have fought Wilder 5 years before but boxed Povetkin instead.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 04:45 Aj should fight zhang march/April, Whyte august and wilder December.
All he has to do is pick an available trainer and hit the gym. It's not a big deal.Syntax Error wrote: ↑07 Jan 2023, 13:12 I see they're still talking about Joshua fighting three times this year.
Really?
The dude hasn't even got a trainer, let alone a fight lined up.
For him to conceivably have three fights in '23, he'd to be fighting in January or February, then again around about May or June.
At this rate, he'll lucky to be ready to fight in May.
I think something like this would really be the only acceptable schedule for him this year but it's looking less likely by the day.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑07 Jan 2023, 09:22 I see rumblings have staretd about having a warm up beofre going into a fight with Whyte, and May is now a date being talked about.
Surely not
So would I.
AJ has sparred him a number of times and usually when a big name picks a former sparring partner for a fight it's because they are confident they can beat them based on their spars. So if he does get picked then I would imagine it's based on something like that.Cyclops wrote: ↑07 Jan 2023, 17:58So would I.
If the ‘easy comeback’ opponent to ‘warm up’ Dillian f*cking Whyte is Bakole then Team AJ are even stupider than I thought they were. No way it will be Martin.
If it is, great. But it’ll be someone far less dangerous.
I hope it is him. He’s a big powerful lump and he rag dolled Yoka, who I don’t like but who I rated as a decent contender. I think AJ would win but it’s a much harder fight than Whyte.joshj909 wrote: ↑07 Jan 2023, 18:58AJ has sparred him a number of times and usually when a big name picks a former sparring partner for a fight it's because they are confident they can beat them based on their spars.
