How come Dubois ring walked first when he was the belt holder?
Just shows the level of disrespect to him , glad he won tbh

It was one of the most enjoyable fights I've seen. Seeing Joshua get walloped and bullied around the ring was quite something. It was like Tyson vs Berbick at times. Then the KO was just so sweet to see. I didn't think it would get any more satisfying than seeing Wilder laid out by Zhang but this was definitely right up there.

It wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was more or less full. Pockets of empty seats, though.

Another observation from last night.... Turki is wasting money left, right and centre on these events. The stacked card benefits nobody except the true hardcore fans, namely us. Obviously Turki is one, too. The vast majority of the crowd were totally uninterested in the undercard and I haven't seen any media outlet mentioning any today. Although they are earning well, they are getting less attention performing on such a stage. Riyadh Season would have got exactly the same publicity with just a normal card.

Right from the start AJ was really upright and rigid, didn't keep his hands up.
DDD did great, Marcus McDonnell should never be let near a boxing ring again, always a big home town referee, always the worst of the worst, tried his best to buy AJ time, long counts, unnecessary warning against DDD
Fortunately the right man won despite McDonnell
Yes, Marcus is by far the most inept A Class referee for years. Possibly ever.
He oozes sheer ineptitude from every pore. Always has.
My favourite Marcus Moment in this fight was when he forgot the signal for 'no knockdown' and started waving his arms around like a maniac giving the impression he was stopping the fight.
If the BBBoC had any credibility they'd pull this poseurs licence.

A great result from Dubois. He really destroyed AJ, and it's hard to see AJ come back and redeem that.
From the first round AJ had his chin in the air more than usual - and his chin sure seemed more fragile than normal.
Aside from being more confident, I don't think Dubois was anything better than better than what was expected.
Boxercise-Ben's game plan for AJ appeared exactly the same ..

Was that a crazy stacked undercard???
Undercard Probably cost a grand toatal of 3 million dollars. AJ and DDD would have cost 30+ million…. So not an outrageous spend to showcase some undercard fighters and make a show a show.
Still, it does suck how late people come in.

He has to carry on. Retiring on never facing his main two rivals and battered senseless by two top ten fighters is not a good look.
As opposed to the look of getting knocked down then sticking your tongue out at your opponent cockily. Then getting knocked down again and beating your chest like King Kong?

Majority of money outside the main probably went on the stadium hire more than the other fights.
Card clearly missed a heavyweight co-main imo. But save those stacked cards for Saudi where there is no tax.
Ref has having a fookin' bubble btw. Tells Dubs no naughties on the first head clash (fair enough), but then says nothing about the holding from Joshua which was excessive.
Fightwise, huge performance by Dubois. Joshua never went in with someone that is same size, same speed, same power in his hands and dare I saw a little bit stronger. Dubois basically bullied Joshua In there up close. And if the ref let him fight out of the clinch or stopped Josh from excessive holding, it would have been over earlier.

He literally did stick his tongue out at a member of the crowd seconds before being sparked. I don't know why you are seeking to compare him to anyone else this morning, it's not a great ideas, we all saw what happened, again.

We all thought he was stopping it until he wasn't! Dapping around like he'd been possessed by Captain Kirk.

All depends on Usyk-Fury II now. It'll set up Joshua-Fury perfectly if Usyk wins more comprehensively.
Poor old Joyce must be scratching his head wondering why he didn't get a title shot 3 years ago. I've said a few times over the years that I rate Bruno above Joshua, and that might not be such a leftfield opinion any more.

I’ve always said this. Stacked cards are a waste of time. Barely anyone’s watching at 6pm. People are having their food & seeing to kids & people just haven’t got the attention span to be watching 6 quality 12 rounders back to back.
A big main event with two good support fights & then a regular undercard with prospects coming through is all that’s needed.
I felt sorry for Cacace & Warrington that they fought in front of such a sparse crowd. Especially when you think of the crowd & atmosphere you would have got in Belfast or Leeds for a fight like that. I suppose the money makes it worth it.

You have to give credit to AJ for how he's improved in taking a loss. He did swear in the ring and say he felt like kicking off but it was much improved on his last one. The experience showed.

I have read much much lower numbers than that. I’m not in the loop and purses are so hard to pick because there always slightly mysterious, but what I have been seeing the undercard fighters were making 100-500 ish. Average it at 300, x 10, 3 million.
But Mabey they are making wayy more, reported pays suck.
I think paying big bucks for the 4th 5th and 6th fight is silly. But 3 interesting fights is my ppv threshold, and no live music inbetween. Good 3 hours for my money and we have a deal. I’m sure there’s others like me too. But if they paid 9 million as you suggest for that undercard it’s fornicating outhouse.

I had a bit of a fear all week that Dubois would freeze a bit & get taken out early.
I was so happy to see him come straight out & put it on Joshua. That jab was a thing of beauty.

Can I fight on one of these cards?! I could always start a social media beef. I'll fight any man for the title of Mythical King of Middle-Aged Warriors.
(I did say warriors.)
