From your description of him, it sounds like he'd fit right in at the top of the HW tree today. :OhYes:

From this description....he would ace the rest.

and just "where" were his rudimentary skills lacking? Perhaps in the high mountain air of Manchester?

the fight is on youtube. no idea what you
are talking about. shavers fell so quickly
to the side that the ref, who was close to
save the struggling earnie, couldn't jump
away in time. no "kick" whatsoever.

granberry, probably got a "kick" from your response.....he was an old troll, that used to love to pull everyone's chain.

And though he was banned, he probably still drops in......he seemed the sort that loved to watch.

BERNARD BRIGGS. wrote:If it wasnt for his charisma and ability to tell us and make us believe he was the greatest as he pummeled stiffs he would be ranked alongside boxers of the ability James Toney

Your boy, James Toney, was literally humiliated and had his shyt pushed in by a homeless man's Muhammad Ali. If you know as much about boxing as you think you do you will know who I am referring to.

Ali didn't have great one punch punching power but he sure lumped up a lot of his opponents, turning their faces into grotesque masks.

No, he was far from a great technical fighter but he more than made up for it with his unworldly athleticism and reflexes

We do have contemporaneous accounts of all his so called gift decisions including AP and UPI round by round accounts. They are there for the searching, some are even here at box rec. When you do the searching most don't look like gifts; some like clear cut decisions for Ali and some look like hotly contested decisions.
