My vodka-pickled brain assumed that this was a 10 round stoppage defeat for my favourite British middleweight.
When the bell rang to end the 10th I finally remembered that there was one more big fight for my boy to come against Charles Brewer.
It was kind of like reliving one of my favourite boxers last hurrahs for the first time all over again. Alcohol induced brain fuzz is underrated.

James Toney vs Adolpho Washington
This winds up feeling like a heavier version of Toney vs Barkley. Washington attacks Toney in much the same way that Barkley did, and we wind up with a pretty similar result.

What may have been even stranger was there appears to have been no one at ringside to cover the fight !
( perhaps the commentators went to lunch)
