Steve Collins had some ropey defences too but you can only fight who's in front of you.

Dingan thobella, and Glenn Catley were still about.

There must have been some good domestic champs who could have had a shot too.

Hopkins was always going to be an ugly fight, as would Calzaghe Ward, just like Ward Bika and in the last 6 rounds, Calzaghe Bika. Calzaghe showed some good moves in the first half of that fight though before Bika just started spoiling and headbutting

Obviously Calzaghe is underrated judging by these comments

To say Froch has a better resume is laughable, he lost to a past prime injured Kessler , Arthur Abraham Jermain Taylor etc were Middleweights . Calzaghe was a huge SuperzlMiddleweight who lost up to 10 lbs the night before the weigh in
