Lee will go on to be an also-ran at WW, similar to RDA.
Well i got to admit, i thought RDA tuned him up enough to more or less cut off that avenue at WW. There are some monsters in that division, even outside the top 5. Big question where he goes from here, given his shortcomings at LW. But people in the industry, far more informed, than me swear by his talent. That is hard to ignore. Either way, i think WW for him is a hard ask.
He's a very good fighter, just not a great one. Maybe one day he can turn the corner but making weight at 155 is only gonna get harder as he ages.
If they force him up to 170 I wouldn't seeing him fight Lawler.

It’s official — New York boots UFC 249 from Brooklyn
MMA Fighting has the official word:
“Out of an abundance of caution and in line with recent guidance issued by the Center for Disease Control and New York State, the New York State Athletic Commission informed the UFC that UFC 249 cannot be held in NY.”
Bummer.
The world is running out of safe places, at least when it comes to large congregations of people. That said, there are locations that will be willing to host MMA events regardless of what’s happening stateside and UFC is currently exploring those options.
Goodbye Brooklyn,
hello Dubai?

I don't see why they don't just host all their events at their Apex facility in Vegas until this thing dies down.

I kind of assumed they'd move it to the Middle East, it's the one region that hasn't been badly affected by the virus.

That's too bad. I was hoping Saudi Arabia would be hit extremely hard.

Khabib won’t fight in Vegas.

The commission won't let them fight at the center. Khabib would fight there in a second.

I don't see the UFC allowing it's athletes and their coaching staff to take part in events even if they do find a country willing to host

The UFC are too business savvy to do something like that, the PR backlash of something so wreckless would be more damaging to the brand than postponing events imo.
I also think athletes are pretty reluctant to compete until this virus is under control. athlete pressure has just got the Olympics postponed. Can't blame them really, a nasty dose of pneumonia could be career-ending.

Not one of their athletes wanted their fights cancelled. Have you been paying attention, the UFC desperately wants the show to go on. It may not, but it isn't even debatable what they want.

Well i knew many of them were total meat heads, particularly the teams. Some smart guys compete too though, and when the bodies start really stacking high I guess at least a few might question the wisdom of having 24+ competitors roll around the same canvas and fencing in a single night.

It will, given the lost revenue for the rest of the year i suspect the big ppv's will be getting rolled out on a weekly basis in 2021. Everyone might be juiced to the teeth though.

Dana is a great president for the UFC. I've got my fingers crossed.
Dana White said the venue for the blockbuster showdown between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson is "99.9 percent" confirmed, though UFC 249 will be a closed event without fans due to coronavirus.

The travel is the biggest concern, but lmao that the UFC isn't busting their ass to keep fights on.

Let's be honest though, if Dana said it probably isn't happening
Will be amazing if they can pull this off though. What advertisement for the sport. With no other events on I'm sure the viewership will be huge, and it *should* be an incredible fight.

Dillian Whyte has called out Miocic and Ngannou
“I’ll fight Stipe Miocic. I’ll kick him in the face. I’ll give Stipe one of these [elbows]. All I’ve gotta do with Stipe is just keep him moving. He’ll just try take me down, he might go to sleep before I go down though.”
“Yeah, I’ll fight UFC. I’ll do one boxing fight, one UFC. One boxing fight, one MMA fight, tell Dana White to hit me up."
Whyte then proceeded to call out scary power puncher Ngannou, who he called a coward with no chin, he said.
“I’ll fight Francis Ngannou. I would lick him down. He ain’t go not chin, he’s a coward bro. I would knock out Francis Ngannou, trust me. All he can do is try and take me down, that’s it.
One boxing fight, one MMA fight. If you want MMA first, let’s go. Boxing first, let’s go. Even Muay Thai, fight me in kickboxing – three-fight deal, tell Dana White.” (Transcribed by TalkSport)
How would Dillian Whyte do against UFC heavyweights Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou?

He’d KO both in boxing and get smashed easily by Stipe and go life and death with Ngannou in UFC.
