Let's be honest though, if Dana said it probably isn't happening
Will be amazing if they can pull this off though. What advertisement for the sport. With no other events on I'm sure the viewership will be huge, and it *should* be an incredible fight.
Dana is looking to put together one of the most stacked cards in history with this one. He can put all the main and co-mains of the events that were either canceled or postponed and put them on one mega card. JACKPOT! The UFC is AWESOME! Dana has a lot of critics, but this man works his @ss off and has the boxing promoters trying to emulate his model.
You are right. This is huge for the organization!

Jon Jones at it again
He has it all except for brains and self control. Anyone still think he isn't juicing?
I don't think he's juicing. His latest performances along with how stringent his testing is, I highly highly doubt it.
I meant to say does anyone still think he wasn't juicing. It's obvious from his recent performances that he isn't the same fighter he used to be when he was on the gear.

There's definitely something different. His aggressiveness is no where the same as it was around the time he won the title from Shogun. Maybe all his dubious habits outside the cage have caught up with him.

In fairness, he's also an older fighter now.
He was a world champion when he was (23?), he's gotta have quite a lot of mileage on the clock now.

Partying and doing tons of booze, weed, and coke instead of training is not great for a pro athlete. Bones has been on the downswing since the first Gustafsson fight. Shame because he was the greatest talent the sport has ever seen.

True, but not that old. And he has not been very active either.

The long layoffs from fighting while doing other things like heavy weight lifting along with all the extracurricular activities are most likely the culprit for his slide. Plus, he's probably become complacent in his preparations. I wouldn't be surprised if he has juiced before, but I'm thinking if he did do it, it was during his heavy lifting heyday.

Sounds like Jones and Bonnar have similar interests. They should hang out some time

Oh he definitely juiced, but that might have started in his late 20s when his ability was starting to flag a bit due to partying and alcohol/drug use. I mean, it's possible he could have juiced in his younger days as well, but no more possible than all of his opponents juicing as well.

April 18 still has a pulse.
I'm on it. I'm watching for the latest updates.

Been watching old Melvin Manhoef fights recently. Would have been a terrifying prospect to fight. Zero ground game, shitty gas tank, but would come out throwing hell for leather. Still one of the most exciting fighters of all time.

Manhoef was one of those guys who was impossible to rank because he'd KO some very good fighters but would generally lose against anyone who could grapple, or just weather those first couple minutes.
Absolutely one of the best finishers in MMA history though. The Manhoef who KO'd Hunt and Misaki was a scary opponent.

Conor looks in good nick there. He never seems to get too far out of shape.

Much like Hunt, he was never suited for MMA, but i figure he followed the opportunities and the dollar at the time. He also seemed to fight bigger guys, for the most part, which is something to consider for his record. Still a beast though lol
Gaethje/Ferguson as the main event now for UFC 249. The location hasn't been announced yet. Still scheduled for April 18th.

I like Gaethje for this if it goes ahead, (don't think it will).

A rep for Belarus has come out and said that they are willing to host the event and the UFC said that they have a few options already and will only use Belarus as an emergency back-up. I think it will happen. April 18th seems too soon. So I am not sure everything gets done by that time. But I do believe the fight will take place. I actually like this main better than the Khabib fight.

This is so stupid. Just postpone the original fight 3 months like every other sporting event under the sun.

I bet they're looking at an Indian reservation in Montana or Arizona. I wouldn't go to Belarus if I was a fighter. Might not get back.
