Are those Knockout programs yours? If so you should get frames for them and hang them in a special part of a room. They're priceless.

I take real good care of them, I have them in a real COOL place! my wife have said that if I don't take them out of that COOL place, she is going to get'em and burn them.
But I think they're safe, for now!, what with her bum leg and all ,even I'm safe for a few week anyway.
Hey Frank
What is it with women anyway? My mother just one day threw out all my baseball cards without even asking me. Think of all the mothers that committed this crime. Today the cards I had as a kid would be worth around 20 grand.

Now your wife wants to burn your fight programs. Don't women realize that baseball cards and fight programs are more interesting than spending time listening to them talk about who the next door neighbor is banging? Except when I happen to be the person doin' the banging.

Hey Frank it's me again.
I just walked into the living room after finishing a bowl of spagheeti and clams that my wife put out for me to eat. I heard the television on. Well my wife won't watch anything on TV but the Mexican channel. Now we have several down here, but she'll only watch channel 17. Don't ask me why. I've tried to get it out of her,but she won't watch any other channel. Even the other Mexican channels.

Well I walk into the living room like I was tellin' ya' and guess what? There's a soccer game on. Now my wife likes sports like your wife likes fight programs. Think she'd change the channel? No way. She's sleeping on the couch. She'll wake up when her Mexican Soap opera is on.

Maybe I have enough time to see what the next door neighbor is up to.

My wife now not only wants to burn my KO's, but my computer too, says I spent too much time on the computer, I tell her, I don't spent more time on the computer then she does watching the soaps/tv, I don't watch tv, ok just the fights, so I tell her, you don't watch tv and I'll stay of the computer, she flip me the bird...

I thought I'd turn on the Baseball All Star Game. Screw the game. I found out they're tearing down Yankee Stadium to build a bigger one next door that will have gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, hotels, spas, and I don't give a damn. What the hell has happened to New Yorkers? Are you all tranplanted there from Podunk, Arkansas? I've had it. I just came back from a continent that wouldn't think of disturbing anything that was a part of their heritage. The birth place of Western Civilization. It wouldn't even be suggested.

Can you imagine the Italians tearing down the Coliseum and building a bigger one next door that has a spa and boutique? You know those gladiators get smelly and sweaty after slaughtering each other .

I think our situations are getting critical. Women say we don't understand them. Baloney. They don't understand us.

I'll be going down to Michoacan in a couple of weeks. I think it's about time we get a couple of "morenitas" on the side to give us some diversion. Take it from me pal. It's a lead pipe cinch. You know how ugly I am. Well you're right behind me. The thing is being ugly works in your favor with those women. I don't know if they feel sorry for you and think no one else will have you. Or being ugly makes you look like an animal and brings out the animal in them. Who cares? As long as we score let the psychologists figure it out.

I hear ya Dagos.
It broke my heart when the old Chicago Stadium was leveled.
That was a great venue for sports and had a great boxing history as well.

How is it that some jabroni always manages to turn one of these treasures into a parking lot?

Billy was always a big hero with all the old Irishmen , family and friends who talked about boxing with me when I was a kid.
It was always
Conn
Mickey Walker
Billy Graham
Jack Dempsey
Those guys were the heros.
My Grandfather Frank Higgins loved these guys.
He also used to help out a guy who shared his name but wasnt actually related.
A fighter named Gene Higgins.
His record is here at boxrec. My grandfather used to throw him a few bucks here and there and come to all his fights at some of the neighborhood clubs in Chicago like Marigold Gardens .
There was a bunch of them back then. The thirties.
Of course there all long gone.

I saw a replay of the first Godoy/Louis fight. Godoy is crouching around the ring like a frog and then leaps in and slaps Louis and then clinches. Then the bell rings to end the fight and Godoy is jumping around like he won. Now that's how a lot of guys fight today. When Louis gets the decision Godoy's holding his head like he can't believe it. What a bullshitter. How many stitches did Joe give him in the return go?

Now take Billy Conn. Now there was a fighter. Yeah,he boxed Louis, but he also stood toe to toe with him. The hardest punching heavyweight of all time. One punch and it was over. Who can figure what Conn was doing in the 13th round? Showing everyone he was a man ,not a frog.

I'm in bed with my laptop, I have 3 working computers here at home, so if she is to burn one, she is going to have to burn all 3..... :box:

Well buddy that's a first. Sleeping with a computer. My wife says I snore too loud and take up too much room. So I sleep by myself. But you never know. The way technology is movin' along, maybe sleepng with a computer could be the answer. Maybe I won't have to go to Michoacan to find a "Morenita." Just get the right software and make my own.

When I went to TJ yesterday,I talked to the guy operating Cheto's Gym about Jibaro Perez. I didn't know he made a comeback after losing to Genaro Hernandez. Said he fought in TJ against up and comers in town. When we saw him on Live Screen win the title from Lora,we all thought he'd be on top for a while, but like I said started breaking training. The guy didn't know anything about his personal life except he's in TJ. The guy at the door said they gave Jibaro an induction to the Mexican Boxing Hall of Fame a few years back.
Cheers, Dagos.

Mayweather had plenty of 'antics' but he could undoubtedly fight. He dished out a right pasting to Vinny Pazienza and then clocked Lou Duva as well, after Lou, somewhat typically, went for him after the final bell. Incidentally, I met Lou when he came over to England with Tyrell Biggs in 1986.
Captain Lou, away from the corner, was charming.
