Well, Yes, he's highly accomplished in body building so we can safely assume he can make weight for fighters. A top supplements company.

Struggled with the frankie gavin one, fcuking brummie accent and a slight slur, barely understood a word tbh

They had a two page "spread" in the Observer Food Monthly. I was amazed just how bad his diet was, they had the contents of his fridge and there was nothing of any nutritional value in it. He admitted he only ate fruit and veg when in training and even then under protest and "a few" veg. I always wondered if his diet contributed to his poor hands.

Clinton McKenzie is the latest interview available.

What a good servant to British boxing he was.

Hope it's a good interview because there were so many memorable fights in Clinton's excellent career.

Listened to it on a run last night mate and he comes across as an absolute gent. Clearly had some tough times, but such a positive mental attitude and if you had to have someone who epitomises the best boxing has to offer he’d fit the bill in my opinion. I think you’ll really enjoy it.

Slur as in Accent or Punchy? I didn't think he sounded too bad, by his own admission he isn't in tip top shape. However he said he plans to get fit again.

Clinton had an amazing career: ABA champ, Olympic rep, three spells as British champ, European champ... He is probably the last great 15-round fighter in this country and just 18 days after dropping his British title to Colin Powers in a brutal 15 brutal-rounder in London, he took on Bruce Curry in the States and went the full 10 rounds. Curry went on to win the WBC light-welterweight title (and was later declared insane but that is another story).

Kerry Kays is top class but it's only good if you follow his advice most fighters go to him listen and act like they are going to carry it out but then go away and eat shite, that's not kerrys fault.

Nah, not punchy just very brummie, very quiet at times and a bit 'white ghetto'.

I can hardly claim to be speaking the queens english being from a pit village in county durham, but i found it hard to understand.

People expect real brummie to be zDudley or somewhere, it’s not.

If you enjoyed Clinton Mckenzie's career, the pod is a decent listen. He went in with so many good boxers and remains a cheerful type.


The Tony Jefferies interview was very enjoyable and funny at times. Tony was very candid about his career and displayed an honesty not often heard.

I loved the comment he made about what boxing legend would he most like to fight, to which he replied "the shittest boxer, for the most money"

Yeah I looked him up before I got into the podcast. Thought he came across as a right muppet with those poses and photos and just came across pretentious to me. I have only watched the Groves interview, can't really warm to Dixon. Granted he must be a decent guy if the boxing people like him enough to do those types of interviews but he doesn't half come across as a pompous guy with that kind of posting.

Whatever he is and whatever he ain't he's fit and powerful for his size and very agile

Another decent listen

Broadhurst talks at 100 miles per hour so there is a slightly rushed feeling to it, but nonetheless a good listen.

I remember his run in the Commonwealth games & eventual Gold medal. Excellent display from Don
