Not sure what to make of it, as much as it appeared to be a good even match up on paper, it didn't really delver.

Williams was buzzed for a good few rounds, because of the knockdowns which didn't look like heavy shots. Unfortunately for him when he did get back into it, he wasn't capable enough to land anything of substance to slow Eubank down. Too be fair, Eubank moved well.

Eubank is a different fighter these days, it was good enough tonight, but he's going to need to land a lot more leather over the duration against a fighter who has a bit more about them than Williams had tonight.

If Williams hadn’t all of a sudden become chinny he wins that fight.
2/3 rounds he was winning 10-9 to lose 10-8.
He will be gutted when he watches it back.
Not that it would have mattered but one definitely wasn't a knockdown.

Just flash knockdowns and I don't think he was hurt from any of them .
There were nothing shots. 2 were jabs and one the inside of the glove I think.
Williams either did the weight wrong, or his chin is shot.
I think Williams could be done at anything beyond Euro level.
You can’t be put down with shots like that.
There’s a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
Admittedly it does compound the power of the punch you take when you are committing yourself like Williams was but they all looked a tad soft and stuff he's taken no problems in the past .

Golovkin
Murata
Munguia
Andrade
Charlo
Lara
Good question.

It's only really Charlo and Andrade that would be big faves vs CEJ.
GGG old, Murata would be close, Munguia probably not but close, Lara 50/50.
He'd need home advantage, but it's not like he's miles away from the 'not quite elite'

Williams is one of those guys who can take pretty much anything in a slug fest, but a sharp single counter is almost guaranteed to put him down.

That was a let down, very poor that Eubank couldn't get a stoppage after 4 soft knock-downs. He fucked about acting like a tool.

Yeah, there's no doubting his bravery, but they were the lightest knockdown shots I've seen in a long time. Even accounting for their unseen speed and walking into them.

He's only 29, but you'd believe he's 39.

Yes! It's funny that, because I was thinking how much better his chances might've been had he got inside more often, in curious contrast to Eubank's former strength there. I was thinking back to the uppercuts Blackwell took, and how this version of Eubank seems to like it at distance under his own steam.

But then had Williams really pressured, as noted, Eubank's bigger and likely stronger. Maybe he felt that and knew to avoid tiring himself with the rough stuff.

He won clearly on the back foot, everyone on here said that was impossible.

williams starded well but looked like a jab put him down, speed of the shot which kinda forced williams on the front foot then the next rd looked like a other flash ko put liam down, but liam looked really dazed from the shots he was put down with, he problay pushed the the fight landed good shots but jr had the ko in the bank and just moved on the back foot, yea jr done well getting the win but i dont know , dont think it was a great performance from jr as weird as it sounds

He won because Williams doesn't have a solid chin. Williams outboxed him in the second half of the fight. If he tried to outbox the likes of Andrade or Charlo he lose handily

no chance? dude was the favourite, as he has been pretty much every fight in his career, including groves. i think saunders was the only one he wasnt (and he lost)

you did the whole people write off jr thingy before, but they really dont. hes got plenty of credit for his ability and if anything that's why ppl get upset when he coasts -- because he has it in him to do more

Same. With the caveat we haven't seen Golovkin for a while, so maaaybe he's faded enough. But then I reckon you'd fancy Murata to beat him if so, clearing that fight from Eubank's table.

I think Munguia beats him at his own game, while Andrade outpoints him comfortably unless he gets so far ahead he feels himself too hard and gets tagged, and I think Charlo has too much ability and high-level seasoning.

Eubank-Lara isn't a bad plan, TBH. Probably a terrible fight now I've said it, but I'd watch it!

Eubank should spin out his title shot a bit longer. Maybe a couple more winnable fights first. Make some more money.
The belt holders will muller him, including Murata.

Can you read? I said people said he would lose if he tried to box with Williams. Everyone said he needs to be aggressive and pressure Williams. He did the opposite and still won.

Murata presumably a good choice as he’s green and lacks seasoning. But pretty poor stuff. Williams the type of sub-Mark Delaney level which Calzaghe beat up without trying before moving on the WBO title.

yep, and hardly anyone said he had 'no chance' if he tried to box :TU:

ppl just so unfair to eubank aren't they, picking him to win pretty much all his fights, even making him the fave over groves, he just gets no respect for his abilities boo hoo :verysad:

I think he is a fair chance vs mung, he is there to be countered. fair chance vs GGG, he is old now and could of faded a lot. I have them as 50-50s

They are the two fights i want to see Eubank in (although id prefer mung and GGG just fight).

No way Munguia won't pepper him with the jab at distance all fight long.
