It’s one thing being able to pull that off against old worn out boxers or ex UFC performers with already awkward looking punches, but we know what Joshua was and still is capable of as a top flight heavyweight, how can they meddle with reality and not get busted on this one?

Unless the story is that Joshua suddenly contracted the flu or a shoulder injury while warming up, I’m struggling to see how this “agreement” plays out to anyone’s benefit. It’s surely too big a gap to close, in any sort of convincing way.

Exactly. If Joshua does what we think he all should to Jake Paul. He'll be the talk of the town at many Christmas Dinners where Uncle's get into Sports talk, and it'll definitely make people pay more attention next year when he fights.

I don't doubt many people will avoid this because they were so disgusted by what they saw with the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson thing, and I don't blame them, but if Joshua scores a highlight reel KO, the memes and the clips will spread over the internet like wildfire, and he'll be as popular as he's been in years.

The early round KO's are interesting if there are boosted odds. If Tommy Fury did enough to not follow the gameplay then I'm sure Joshua will.

Any pre-scripted agreements are illegal In a professionally sanctioned fight. It doesn't mean they aren't there. Boxing has always been the most crooked of sports. You only have to read up on the sport's history to see it: the Jack Johnson book Unforgivable Blackness alleges numerous fixed bouts for the historic champion. They're part of the sport.

Previously, I've posited a theory about the Fury Ngannou fight. In the months prior to that, Hearn is on record saying that it was an exhibition with no knock downs. Then it becomes a real, sanctioned fight. Ngannou knocked a flabby, out of shape Fury down, and arguably won. But what if the (illegal) pre-fight agreement was that nobody would knock each other down, or at least Fury wouldn't knock down Ngannou and that it would go to points? Maybe Tyson swallowed the knock down and let the fight go to points to claim his promised purse? Maybe Ngannou ignored his contracted obligation to not really try and put it on Fury regardless? Maybe in the Joshua fight, the agreement was the same, but AJ decided to forfeit his entire purse to flatten Ngannou, despite some prior agreement to let him off and give him some rounds?

We'll never truly know. If they admitted to any of the above. they would be in a world of trouble.

I'm not a gambler, but if I was I would be betting on this with whatever pre-agreed result I could imagine in mind. AJ KO1 should be the reality. I wouldn't bet that, just because I don't think this is a real, caveat free fight. Something weird is likely to go down.
