I totally agree, although in this case it was supposedly justified since his opponent slapped him at the weigh-in.

But in general he's a C-level fighter who clowns around in there like nobody else is in his league.

Aha - I was thinking his telegraphed slaps were a little too much - but had not seen the weigh ins.

I assume you mean incredibly awful refereeing?

Yes, incredibly awful refereeing AND an incredible comeback.

It was like seeing the first fight and the rematch... all in one night.

I hope they do a real rematch. That was one of the worst referee blunders I've ever seen.

What tickles me is the fact that many people blame Herman.

I may have missed it.. but I don't recall him gesturing that he was hurt low... just that he was hurt. Why wouldn't you take the time if given?

I had a bet on the other guy to win by KO. I've lost alot of bets due to shocking referees, but that takes the biscuit. I'd love to boot that ref right in the conkers so he knows what a low blow is. Arsehole.

I wouldn't say I blame him but he did start grabbing his balls and pretending he got hit there AFTER the ref paused the fight, which was pretty unsportsmanlike.

Ah, I didn't see him grab down there.. maybe I just didn't want to see it.

Tyron Woodley Makes Black Lives Matter Statement At UFC Vegas Presser

Tyron Woodley made a statement at the UFC Las Vegas 11 press conference on Thursday. The former UFC welterweight champion answered every question at the event with a version of saying “Black Lives Matter.”

When asked if he was disappointed with Covington not appearing at the press conference, Woodley only stated, “I’m just really excited that Black Lives Matter”.

When Woodley was asked about possibly being in line for a title fight, Woodley answered, “I feel like a victory here just really shows how much Black Lives Matter.”

Then asked if he wanted to use this platform to deliver a message, Woodley answered “Just that Black Lives Matter.”

Reporters then picked up on the trend, with one asking about if this fight amplifies his need to support the cause. “Nah, I just think that Black Lives Matter,” Woodley responded.

He was then asked if anything surprised him about Colby’s pre-fight antics. “I wasn’t surprised,” Woodley answered. “Especially because Black Lives Matter.”

Woodley was wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and a hat that read “Make Racists Catch The Fade Again.”

One reporter got in a great question. He asked Woodley if he would shake Covington’s hand if he realized that Black Lives Matter.

“I like your style,” Woodley responded to the question. “And I definitely realize that Black Lives Matter.”

Woodley will take on Colby Covington Saturday night at UFC Las Vegas 11. A few days ago, Covington met with Donald Trump, who wished him well in his fight against Woodley.

is Covington by any chance a prominent and vocal supporter of Trump, and purveyor of lots of 'sick' memes and quotes that really 'own the libtards hard'?

Yes, that is his whole shtick. Before he was just a nondescript fringe contender but then he started putting on this new routine a few years ago and now he's the talk of the town.

It's disheartening that so many athletes (particularly combat athletes) have come to understand that being the biggest asshole possible is a viable way to make money.

BTW, I hadn't heard about Chandler, that's great news.

I hope we get Hooker/Chandler as his debut.

lol UFC get Chandler, unusual for them to pick up Bellator leavings

I'm going to predict Chandler looks a lot less muscular and explosive assuming he will be under some sort of testing egime with UFC

As expected, Covington tooled Woodley. There’s a reason Tyron never wanted this fight. I’d like to see CC get the next title shot. The rematch with Usman is interesting, as is fighting Burns.

Masvidal should be fighting Leon, not Covington.

I’ve liked the hype train for Chimaev. He’s having fun out there. Still don’t know his real potential since guys are folding so quickly or with such little resistance. Maia is old enough I doubt that fight goes to the ground so it’s likely another steam roll.

The guy Chimaev fought did not want to be in there last night..

Straight shot. Down the middle. Right on the button.

Meerschaert’s been a pro for 13 years and is a 45 fight veteran. He most certainly did want to be in there, he just got obliterated.
