Re: Bets for Upcoming Fights

think the spence odds will shorten in uk, his damaged eye and the weight issues point strongly to a spence stoppage but need to get on it now before the bookies wise up
I agree that the weight issue could be a deciding factor with regard to Brook's punch resistance - but if it's anything like what was on display against GGG then he should be able to take his shots. Spence needs to KO him to get the W because if it goes to a decision I doubt he will get a good one in Sheffield.littlepug wrote:think the spence odds will shorten in uk, his damaged eye and the weight issues point strongly to a spence stoppage but need to get on it now before the bookies wise up
fair point, 5-2 at the minute for spence stopage, can see spences long straight punches aggravating brooks eye again for a corner retirement but who knows ? good luck whichever way you goBonyTellew wrote:I agree that the weight issue could be a deciding factor with regard to Brook's punch resistance - but if it's anything like what was on display against GGG then he should be able to take his shots. The thing is, odds will be mostly dictated by where the money is being wagered. Casual UK boxing fans are unlikely to consider the weight or eye issue, and not that many will know of Spence, so there will still be much more money being placed on Brook over here.
6-1 for a Haye decision would be a good bet IMO.BonyTellew wrote:I'm lining up some bets for upcoming domestic fights, trying to figure out ways of buying some easy money:
Haye vs Bellew
Most people seem to be concluding that this is a three, possibly six round fight where Haye will take him out early.
I've had a look at round betting on Will Hills site and I think there is value to be had betting large on rounds three and four, also betting medium on rounds one, two, five and six.
Odds are as follows:
Rd 1 - 10/1
Rd 2 - 9/1
Rd 3 - 7/1
Rd 4 - 7/1
Rd 5 - 8/1
Rd 6 - 10/1

I covered the same type of multi-bet up to round six on the Price Hammer fight but unfortunately for me Hammer won in the 7th round. I think this time it looks to be a much better money lock.
Brook vs Spence
If this fight does go ahead then there could be a good opportunity for arbitrage betting.
Right now the UK bookies have Brook as a slight favourite, whereas other companies marginally favour Spence.
As the fight draws closer expect the UK firms to shorten Brook's odds, conversely lengthening Spence's odds, as the money piles in from the UK fans for Brook.
You can get odds against for Brook at MarathonBet, and come fight night it will be worth betting on Spence as his odds will be greater than the 11/10 currently on offer from the UK big four. This should allow a small wager on a draw while still shaving a profit.

I can't see it going the distance at all. Bellew couldn't stand up to Stevensons power. Soon as Haye hits him he's humped. The odds are higher than I thought they'd be though.Gnome wrote:6-1 for a Haye decision would be a good bet IMO.BonyTellew wrote:I'm lining up some bets for upcoming domestic fights, trying to figure out ways of buying some easy money:

Not it wouldn't. It's an awful bet. It's a 12 round fight, no way it goes 12Gnome wrote:6-1 for a Haye decision would be a good bet IMO.BonyTellew wrote:I'm lining up some bets for upcoming domestic fights, trying to figure out ways of buying some easy money:

I can't remember that and it's a different fight anyway. I just don't think a 12 round Haye decision is a value bet at 6-1. 25/1 yeah I'd take itGnome wrote:That's what they said about Fury-Klitschko I thought.boxingknockout wrote:Not it wouldn't. Got to seriously question Williams heart to be a fighter.ElJefe wrote:Looks like I underestimated Marcus Browne![]()
Yeah, I was hoping he might have turned a corner after seeing himself pick himself up of the floor and take the fight to Stevenson. Apparently not.PredatorHayds wrote:Got to seriously question Williams heart to be a fighter.ElJefe wrote:Looks like I underestimated Marcus Browne![]()
Not the first time he's looked for a way out.
I also had money on Williams which was the only let down on my accumulator.
Good underdog to take I'll be taking him too, Alvarez should of lost against Chilemba and he was rocked against Prieto. There will be no vada testing so Bute will probably be on the sauce again and I think this fight is being set up for a big money Canadian showdown between Bute and Stevenson whose belt this fight is an eliminator for.JimGunn wrote:I almost bet the under 7½ in the Williams/Browne bout as I am wont to do in fights with two heavy hitters where I think there will likely be an early stoppage, but I switched to Williams last minute when the line shot up. Anyway, some interesting fights coming up next weekend.
So far I made a small play on former long time super middleweight champion Lucian Bute as a +280 underdog against the undefeated Eleider Alvarez in Quebec City Friday evening. They're both transplanted foreigners living in La Belle Province despite Bute being more identified as a Quebec resident. Bute has much more pro experience and fought much better competition than Alvarez and has been very competitive even at this late stage of his career. I got my money back when he went to a controversial draw against Badou Jack last year and he held his own against James DeGale in 2015 on the way to losing a wide UD. Bute never served much of a suspension for testing positive for Ostarine after the Jack fight where he looked suspiciously energetic even in the late rounds for a 36 year old man. One could look at that this two different ways as it may mean he's off the sauce and clean or cynically I'll suggest he could be cycling better so as to not get caught this time. This fight is also apparently taking place at light heavyweight, so that's perhaps not Bute's optimal weight class. But he's actually taller than Alvarez and only giving up 3½ inches in reach, plus he has the southpaw advantage. In summary, I like him for a small play at this price as this is by far the best fighter that Alvarez has ever faced and But will most likely have the crowd behind him.
Lucian Bute (+280) vs Eleider Alvarez $40.00 for $112.00

I doubt they do, I think the bookies follow the money and everything I said is online so they would have done their own research , with that being said if Bute is @3.75 on pp that means a points must be higher maybe 4.5.TheLeprechaun wrote:Jmashyaka wrote:Good underdog to take I'll be taking him too, Alvarez should of lost against Chilemba and he was rocked against Prieto. You can be sure that you won't be getting a great price with posts like this on forums. If you think the odds compilers don't read threads like this you're badly mistaken trust me
