I'll tell you what else is silly. It takes a 10 count to determine whether a guy is KO'd? Why not a 40 count? That way we'll know FOR SURE he can't continue.
I deleted the rest of your post because it was the rantings of a mad man...
Was a 40-count issued in Ali-Liston 2???? .... Or did Liston wait for Ali to be at a safe distance before getting to his feet -- knowing the neutral corner rule was in effect and knowing that Ali was supposed to be in a neutral corner???
If there was a 40-count.... Why did Walcott, Ali, and Liston ALL think the fight was still on????????????????

Man you're opening my eyes even more than I thought they could be opened. WHY DID ALI, LISTON AND WALCOTT all think the fight was still on?
Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? Why does rain make the plants grow? Why are cacti only in the desert?
I don't know, but I'll tell you what I do know. You're a goddamn genius that's what you are....and I think I know what you're saying. 40-count is a bit much right? You're saying it should be a 30-count?

Oliver McCall is the 4th greatest Heavyweight of all time.
Wilt Chamberlain is the best heavyweight ever (who never fought)
Lewis should have been disqualified against Klitschko
Ali should have been disqualified against Liston
Those are the dumbest exaggerations in the History of posting.
And thus an exaggeration. Funniest ironic post ever if meant to be. Saddest if it wasn't.

And the answer WASN'T an exaggeration.
NOBODY is saying McCall was the 4th best Heavyweight ever.... McCall beat Lewis in superb fashion on the sole occasion when he was healthy of mind and body AND had a ATG coach in his corner (how often are you lucky enough to have an ATG coach? Not too often). Steward told everyone McCall would had the weapons, speed, and power to confuse the Hell out of Lewis and knock him out... Steward said "Lewis is easily confused." ... Nobody believed Steward including me -- but then there's the result of the fight, which was well fought, with a crisp right counter KO and not a lottery shot..
NOBODY ever said Chamberlain was the best Heavyweight ever or even close to the best.... He was the greatest ATHLETE ever and wanted to knock out Ali to prove he was... When Ali realized how serious Chamberlain was he started making every excuse in the world not to fight him... including the mealy mouthed excuse "I accept your challenge... After I fight a few more contenders... IF I beat THEM."
NOBODY said Lewis should have been DQ'd vs Klitschko... Klitschko was winning the fight on ALL SCORECARDS and the fight should have GONE to the scorecards for a TD.. because the cuts were opened and worsened by fouls, in which case you go to the scorecards.

No.. I have the vision to see the cross traffic... I'm the Road Runner.. You're the Coyote perpetually confused and behind.
So you're telling me, I should sue the Acme corporation for all of their failed contraptions?
Ok Gil, so how do you not to have the FDA in on the contraptions regulations, when turnbuckles are eaten and consumed by some folks (the late George Steele for one).?

George Steele certainly should've received Heavy fines for his abuse of turnbuckles

Okay, riddle me THIS: What if he ate the entire neutral corner? Huh? Then what? Huh? Tell me tell me tell me. ! LMFAO!!!

Well isn't it obvious? It wouldn't be a neutral corner anymore at that point. It'd be a devoured corner.

I Wonder if the Coen brothers are fight fans?
"It's gettin so a businessman can't expect no return from a fixed fight. Now, if you can't trust a fix, what can you trust?"
I Wonder if the stories are true, that Liston was suppose to lay down for Wepner, but when he doubled crossed the hard guys they made their point by giving him a 'hotshot.'

Yeah there's a lot mystery regarding Liston's ultimate demise. Lots of suspicion of foul play. Unfortunately it's one of those unsolved mysteries, and after all these years likely always will be.
It'd probably make a good book though. Has anyone written a book on it?
Hell there's gotta be Book (s) plural on Sonny Liston surely?

Whether Liston was murdered or died of an accidental overdose will be discovered by all on Judgment Day... Whether Judgment Day comes in a thousand or a million years -- it will arrive as surely as 5:00AM tomorrow morning.
That has nothing to do with the Neutral Corner Rule... Ali... Walcott... Fleischer... the time keeper.... the boxing commissioners present at Ali-Liston 2.... and the Maine Athletic Commission... Their mistakes and transgressions are separate and removed from anything that happened to Liston and his right to equal protection under the law... the 14th Amendment guarantees everyone the equal protection of applicable laws and regulations ... which include the Neutral Corner Rule.

Yea but there isn't anything new to say about those issues. Everyone has said their piece and no one has changed their mind. We truly are spinning in a circle; we have hit a point of redundancy.

As "Cool Hand Luke" said 'er he FO'd .... "What we have here is a FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE." ... KA -POW!! : Bye now
I think that's the mindset of a lot of folks.... "I ain't listening cuz it's you talking."

Well I for one was witness to a lot of words that have been shared on this thread.
And there were some novel insights shared here. Some of have been mind expanding. Some have been helpful.
A few others were placed in between such contributions.
I will say with certainty, that there have been a lot of threads that have showed up on this forum.
And to my way of thinking....this has been one of them.
And I don't believe anyone here can argue otherwise.
