Granberry. Let me tell you a little story about broken ear drums and power.

I know those who never felt the crack of leather may consider breaking an opponents ear drum, as an exhibition of raw power. But in reality, a little woman, with but a minimum of strength, weighing less than 100 lbs. can bitch slap her 230 pound boyfriend against the ear and pop that ear drum with ease.

Next time you try to convince an ex-fighter like scartissue, and yeah, he was a fighter, you may wish to re-think your choice of examples.

I was standing right next to Ali's corner when they helped him down the ring steps after he was given his "win" over Young and the DC crowd was booing the hell out of him.

He couldn't have made it safely down those steps without 6 hands holding him.

Herbert Muhammed, Ali's manager, left the arena before the decision was given.

A lot of terror among those muslims around Ali over what a little woman had done to him.

By the way, I doubt you would be foolish enough to call Sonny Francese and Bobby Salerno “a bunch of tired old gangsters” to their faces.

I can think of no other fighter in the annals of pugilism which that description contradicts than Jimmy Young. Unless of course you're also going to try to convince us that Rocky Marciano was a smart boxing southpaw or Jack Sharkey was a cool-headed strategist or Roberto Duran was a cross-dresser on weekends when he would wait for ships to come in at the Panama canal.

Jimmy Young was a very nice boxer with a great jaw who had a sharp punch (not hard) in his prime that turned into a slap after the Norton fight, his last fight where he was in shape. I don't want to knock Jimmy Young, I liked him very much when others found him dull. I saw the thinking brain he utilized in fights and appreciated his skill, but he was no body punching banger!!!!

Here is a quote from the well respected boxing writer Dick Young after Young's fight with Joe Roman. "Jimmy Young didn't take out Joe Roman. Jimmy Young couldn't take out Mrs. Young for dinner. He can't punch. He hit Joe Roman all night, closed both eyes, and at the end of 10 dreadful rounds, Joe Roman was doing more punching than Jimmy Young. Jimmy Young got the decision, but he was the worst looking winner since the 1950 Phillies. In the end the crowd booed Jimmy Young. Jimmy Young had powder-puffed himself out of the title shot. However, there were two dissenting votes. Muhammad Ali and Don King. And those are the only two votes Jimmy Young needs." Now, if you think Dick Young had an axe to grind against Young (since you are the conspiracy theorist on this group), this is what Dick Young had to say after the Ali fight. "Ali is still the champion this morning thanks to 3 hero worshipping judges." Indeed, Dick Young scored the fight for Jimmy Young.

None of them ever had a fight with their own sister.

I seen the first and second Aragon/Carter fights live , the first was an over the weight fight, which was good for Artie since he had been havig trouble making 135 lbs. for some time, in that first fight Aragon out fought Carter and I thought he had won.

The second first for Carter's ligthweight title, well, when I seen him come into the ring, I turn around and told my uncles "Aragon is going to lose tonight"
They ask me "why" and I said "look at Aragon, he looks like Gasper the Friendly Ghost" Aragon was so pale he could've pass for a gabacho that night, Art did okay for the first 5 rounds after that it was all down hill for Aragon.

Rick and Kiki, your contributions are appreciated (especially the pics) but trying to "talk down" to Granberry only makes both of you look troll-like.

If you believe that Granberry's links between boxing and the under world are not true, prove him wrong. If you believe that boxing is run strictly above board by the honest, show proof, site examples.

You will not sway many to your side with your haughty dismissal of Granberry's opinons. Granberry is obviously knowledgeable and has been around boxing a long time. Hope you two didn't come to this board to try to make it like the CBZ. There, they bar anyone who doesn't follow the same line of thought. Tommy Umeda had 3 fights with Keeny Teran that I can recall, he lost the first one and came back to ko Keeny in their second fight, and he lost the rubber match by 10rd. decision.

The first 2 I seen live, can't remember if I seen the third one.

Just in case this galt's is a real person, let me say that I respect people that put all their boxing knowledge for other people to see, and I respect their opinons, not their bullshit, now when somebody like berry claims to have all the inside infomation on fights/fighters/wiseguys, who took a dive, who didn't, well maybe I wouldn't have a hard time believing him if he would tell us who he is, I know that he does have some on this board believing that he is the "inside man" in boxing, and but until I know who he is I can't accept that.

Collins, I laughed when I saw this because I just perused some of this 'Galt's' past posts since something didn't smell quite right. I too had come to the conclusion that he was either a professional G-Berry butt licker or he was G-Berry, since, as you said, this guy seems to mysteriously come to his rescue. I mean, realistically, who else would defend some of that gibberish? Great minds, my man. Great minds.
