You said you wanted Khabib to be humble.
Lol, I said I wanted him unconscious.

What a great first round. Absolutely great.
That was Khabibs best performance imo.
Incredible pressure, nobody would beat him imo.
Justin could, obviously not today. Strong motherfucker.

I thought he was winning both rounds before the takedowns. He was visibly gassed though. He'd take 2 or 3 out of 10.

Really?
Khabib dominated him 1st round.
2nd round gaethe had more success, but there was plenty of round to go, and khabib easily worked him into leaving himself open to the takedown.

Yes, really, thought it was a fantastic round. Khabib definitely got that finish quickly, he had too, his leg was about to go.

It’s been confirmed that Khabib went into the fight with a broken foot.
I think that’s the first time we have seen Khabib go out and try to finish a fight quickly. He’s clearly not dealing with the loss of his father and I don’t doubt that he is retired for good.
Jones having a meltdown is hilarious.
I’m not sure what round Whittaker lost tbh. He looked great though, I still don’t see him beating Adensenya who’s just a horrible matchup for him.

If the UFC had a 4-man LW tournament, why would Chandler be in it over Gaethje or Oliveria or Hooker or Ferreira?
I mean McGregor isn't really deserving either, but at least it makes some sense since he's an ex-champ.

Khabib just retired. Said "no more without my father". Apparently some promise he made to his mother.

After the fight, the UFC president hailed Nurmagomedov as the greatest of all time, something that the ex-light heavyweight king did not appreciate.
It didn’t take long for “Bones” to respond to White’s powerful statement, emphasizing that he has never lost a championship bout since copping his first gold-plated belt against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in March 2011.
“I’ve won 15 world titles, he just won his 4th. The fact that this is even a conversation is [mind] blowing to me,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

Khabib Nurmagomedov reportedly earned the biggest fight purse of his career after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254
RT claim that he will pocket £4.6million from the fight plus £70,000 for a performance of the night bonus.
Gaethje reportedly took home around £300,000 for his efforts on Fight Island.
The report goes on to say the sum Khabib received was significantly more than the £1.5million he got for beating Conor McGregor at UFC 229, while the Irish fighter got £2.3million.
It is also said to be more than he got for beating Dustin Poirier last year.
The overall money that the Russian fighter will receive will be significantly higher due to pay-per-view buys, which are yet to be announced.

A guy with 1 win at 155 4 years ago doesn’t deserve to be in any kind of title elimination.

As a McGregor hater I am in full agreement with you, but realistically, if the UFC held such a tournament, and McGregor wanted in, he would be in.

Justin’s post fight interview with Megan Olivi was class. I do want to see him involved in the next title fight one way or another.
He got run over basically but I can’t help but think he took the back foot too easily instead of taking the fight to Khabib. Who knows. Khabib did look very strong in the fight. Almost impervious.

That’s what Gaethje said in the post fight interview - absolute bollox - Khabib was levels above him, motivated and unstoppable.

If he beats Poirier of course that changes things.
I’m not convinced Dana is ready to give up on Khabib yet. From the post fight presser it seemed like he still believes Khabib could change his mind once he grieves properly.
Whether he is a draw or not I think the UFC would be mad to give Conor another shot at a title. He held the featherweight division captive, refused to defend for over a year until he was stripped. It was more or less the same at 155. He’s had 2 fights in 4 years, win or lose against Porier I wouldn’t bet on him fighting within a year again. If he was to win a title again there’s no way he would defend it.
155 is his best chance a title. There’s no way he is beating the top 170lbers and honestly I think Volkanovski is a horrible match up for him. He’s strong has a surprisingly good reach but most importantly his gas tank seems to be pretty incredible.

Is McGregor/Poirier II actually happening? Is there a date for it? I thought it was just the two of them jawing on Twitter.
If it does happen, I agree the UFC should be very wary of making it a title fight. McGregor has shown himself to be very unreliable as a champ, he's liable to f*ck off for another 2 years to go fight Manny Pacquiao or something.

As far as I know it is in January... rumored at first to be at 170... but 155 now, I'm hearing.
Not a McGregor fan... but with Gaethje and Ferguson both coming off pretty bad losses, I wouldn't complain too much about it being made a 155 title fight.

McGregor doesn't deserve the next shot. Let his fight with Poirier be an eliminator and the winner fight Justin for the title. Tony gets the next title shot if he wants it.
