Well i wasnt there tonight so i didnt see frankie fight so im assuming it was lacklustre, anyway i still think frankie is the more talented of the two.goldenears wrote:Mr Bellew will say the same thing no doubt! But just looking at tonights performances and the progressions fight to fight, it feels like DeGale is moving quicker than Frankie who just didn't really come totally to life tonight for me. I'm sure he's got more to come, the lads who work with him every day seem to rave about him and obviously they know him and their boxing way more than i do (lefty wrote:I disagree,i think frankie is better than degale and also degales fight tonight wasnt really a fight!Carl didnt really turn up!goldenears wrote:I thought DeGale looked the brightest of the new crop, coming on a lot faster than Frankie Gavin who wasn't really as convincing as i'd hoped at this stage..Cleverley looked great at times but naive in places and definitely is work in progress, and Brook couldn't really work Jennings out and we didn't learn much about him from that fight as Mick was only just starting to feel his way into it after using his movement to stay elusive and frustrating early on.) but I'd like to see him put on some showstopping performances. Him and DeGale made their debut at a similar time and we're already talking about DeGale in fairly big fights, wheras Frankie seems a bit further away. I hope he does make it through though.

aye it was just a bit workmanlike, he was always in control and just coasted through it really, which you can't blame him for doing, he's learning the trade and needs to get the rounds in I guess, I just think the more I see of DeGale the more I think he could go a long way. The good thing is we seem to have a really decent crop of young talent coming through and this sort of bill tonight proves it - there's good heavyweight matchups out there domestically and this rumoured FW December show could be really great especially if there's a couple of World Title fights on there.lefty wrote:goldenears wrote: Well i wasnt there tonight so i didnt see frankie fight so im assuming it was lacklustre, anyway i still think frankie is the more talented of the two.
The fact that we're discussing who are the most talented of a new breed is healthy in itself IMHO

interesting. can't see there being anything for abraham who already has at least one more fight committment and most of us probaly think he beats froch and goes into the super 6 final once ward and dirrell stop faffing about.orbtastic wrote:Huck, Abraham and Slyvester were all hanging around, I would guess SS and Huck were eyeing up a potential challenger? maybe huck was there to watch the frenkel-macca winner. huck seems as though he's going in the cruiserweight super 6 and maybe sauerland had their eye on the winner.
sylvester surely having an eye on macklin, who will surley be moved up after last night. don't like watching macklin vs spoilers. wanted to see a razor sharp macklin vs barker, on the form he showed vs elcock and asikainen.
PS when was the last time a sauerland fighter fought (and won) on a FW card. wasn't marcus beyer v richie woodhall in the late '90s was it? shockingly, woodhall went down a few times in that one. not as heavily as macca, mind!

(i am paraphrasing)
"now that i'm a super middleweight i can eat more roast potatoes".

Macklin was joking after the stoppage - Asking "where is Sylvester, where is he" then asking in German.Autobarn wrote:interesting. can't see there being anything for abraham who already has at least one more fight committment and most of us probaly think he beats froch and goes into the super 6 final once ward and dirrell stop faffing about.orbtastic wrote:Huck, Abraham and Slyvester were all hanging around, I would guess SS and Huck were eyeing up a potential challenger?
