Perhaps it's poor of me but I'm genuinely a bit cynical about Fury's whole 'mental health' saga and suspect he's exploiting it to win hearts & minds.

Just some of the stuff he's come out with ("you just need a point in the right direction and pull yourself together") from having read about it, doesn't strike me as someone with clinical depression. I'm thinking he's just like you & me, can box a bit, won a world Heavyweight title and went on a humungous bender that went a bit wrong.

As it can to be fair.

As I type this it make me think Fury is far worse as a cynical f**k than Wilder being a complete twit and makes me hope he gets absolutely sparked on Saturday/Sunday.

I'd like to believe his story, I really would. I love a good comeback and think a comeback is the basis of the very best stories in sporting history - in any sport - but I just don't think I buy it with Fury and he's being exceptionally manipulative.

But I might be wrong, just my observations.

Fury's clearly had his problems, but I feel he's running with a storyline that writers are happy to reinforce.

I think the truth is closer to him realising that he was fortunate against Wlad, and struggling with the reality that lots of people failed to accept him as champ until after their rematch, which he didn't fancy partly because he agreed with their consensus that another win would've been harder, and also because he didn't want to give those haters the satisfaction. So he went to parties for a while, at which he was always popular.

Anthony ‘Opponents Barred’ Yarde. Once again an exciting fighter's lost my attention through management. I'll catch up with him again in a few years' time.

Nope. This barely dignifies a response but Fury was hinting at his mental health struggles and talking about waking up in the morning and not wanting to live in IFL interviews even prior to the Klitschko fight.

In fairness to Goz, both the WBO and the WBA were willing to make Fury "Champion in Recess" (or similar) if Fury's team could provide evidence of his diagnosis and/or treatment, but that evidence was never made available.
