I like Joshua and Uysk. They both come over as being decent people, but I want Uysk to win, as it will help keep him alive.

If Uysk wins, then I am sure he will fight Tyson Fury, which will be another training camp etc. If he loses, it is back home to Ukraine where anyone can be killed by the indiscriminate shelling of the Russian Army. It is utterly heartbreaking what is going on over there.

If the fight goes ahead I see Joshua getting stopped inside 6 rounds. Usyk is thinking to himself "Why was I so cautious last time, this blighter can't really hurt me and is bricking it any time I even look at him"

Wouldn't be surprised if Usyk finished off Joshua well inside the distance this time, the original fight had a mystique about it that was interesting this one doesn't. There was nothing in the first fight that showed Joshua can adapt mid fight to a different style.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Probably more than Fury Wilder 3

It brings about the same zeroish amount of intrigue. However, Fury-Wilder III had its surprises. Can Joshua bring some?

Nope - never released other than Frank saying they did ok and came through on the right side. The IFL guys questioned Eddie a fair bit on the Canelo/Bivol PPV numbers yet Umar’s not pushed it with Frank or even questioned Arum. Makes me think it was a long way off their crazy predictions.

I think we know that Fury/Whyte PPV numbers bombed in comparison to the projected 1.5 million buys Warren was predicting.

We would have heard about it if it was even remotely close.

I actually really like him. I don’t particularly rate him as a commentator but outside of that I do. He’s complimentary about everyone (including those outside of Sky/Boxxer) and seems to be a genuine bloke and doesn’t play politics. I actually think he does more promotion for Sky/Boxxer than Ben Shalom does.

I agree. Not sure why he needs to do the commentary. He has been helping Shalom out big time with budgets and in helping promotions.

Yeah - it probably will be Matchroom supplied undercard fights but given they get paid a set fee, with no upside on buys and don’t have an ongoing boxing relationship with Sky, what’s their incentive to have a competitive fight on there?

Let’s see what happens. Surely it can’t be any worse than the undercard to Khan/Brook.

Hearn Responds To Sky Winning Broadcast Rights To Usyk-Joshua Rematch

“It was always the case that the rights weren’t available for the Saudi Arabia fight,” Hearn told IFL TV. “It was always going open market. What Joshua has done is pledged his long-term future in the sport to DAZN. But this fight was always outside of that agreement. That deal (between Joshua and DAZN) was announced because it was signed, but the Saudi deal was never done with DAZN. They were always going to open market. It was not a process we were ever involved with.”

“I’ve seen some of the numbers floating around, it’s incredible,” Hearn said of Sky's bid. "$30 million something like that. It shows you the size of the fight. I don’t know the official announcement, or who gets what rights globally. We always knew that when we did this deal that it was a complete payment for the site fee and all rights. So this was one we weren’t involved with.”

“We had no involvement in the process,” Hearn continued. "We didn’t own the rights to this fight, Saudi did. They went out and ultimately took probably the biggest offer, which was always expected.”

“We’ve got our agreement within the contract for the undercard,” Hearn said. “Obviously it’s a Matchroom show.”

So Fury is now saying he’d come out of retirement and fight Joshua. For free. Last week it would take £500m. His caveats this time are that it would have to be free for fans to attend and also be on free to air Tv.

The weird thing is some of the people at the show where he said we’re lapping it up as though it was genuine.

Surprise first fight set for Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch undercard

The first fight to be named for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch undercard is one nobody saw coming.

Former world champion Badou Jack is seemingly set to face Richard Rivera on the show, which will take place on August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Jack is now 38 and campaigning in the cruiserweight division.

He previously captured the WBC super-middleweight title when he beat Anthony Dirrell back in 2015.

Jack famously fought on several of Floyd Mayweather’s undercards as he was signed with Mayweather Promotions at the time.

The Swedish-Gambian defended his WBC belt against George Groves with a spit decision win on the undercard of Mayweather vs Andre Berto in 2015.

Jack shared a draw with IBF champion James DeGale in their unification back in 2016, then moved up to light-heavyweight.

His first bout in the division took place on the undercard of Mayweather vs Conor McGregor in Las Vegas in 2017.

He stopped Nathan Cleverly to claim the WBA ‘regular’ belt at light-heavyweight.

However, Jack never won a full world title at light-heavyweight as he drew with WBC champion Adonis Stevenson.

Defeats to Marcus Browne and Jean Pascal followed before Jack opted to move up to cruiserweight.

His first fight in the division came in victory over Blake McKernan on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s return exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr in LA in 2020.

Jack has since put together a further three wins.

The first of these came on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition with Logan Paul in Miami.

And the most recent came on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition with Don Moore in Abu Dhabi.

Now, he will join another big card as the poster has emerged showing that he’ll box before Usyk and AJ.
