Had a nibble on Joyce points. 4/1
Don't think he's got destructive power.
If both tire, could be a clinchfest late on.

I can't resist this inflated price too: Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (+1400) vs Murat Gassiev $50.00 for $700.00

Added a little prop at big odds to my moneyline bet:

Re: Betting thread
That was a frustrating style match with ZZ vs Burnett, but I believe the right man won. At least Catterall came through with a clear UD and that was my bigger bet from the UK cards.
Re: Betting thread
I landed my double which I posted up. I was on a small losing streak so glad it came it.
Re: Betting thread
I'm taking a chance on the underdog tonight and the under. That missed weight is a red flag for me and Corrales didn't impress me before. Hopefully one or both hit:
Alberto Machado (+175) vs Jezreel Corrales $75.00 for $131.25
Alberto Machado/Jezreel Corrales Under 11½ (+125) $80.00 for $100.00
Alberto Machado (+175) vs Jezreel Corrales $75.00 for $131.25
Alberto Machado/Jezreel Corrales Under 11½ (+125) $80.00 for $100.00

Good one
Does anyone think the price is wrong on Helenius-Whyte?
You can get 4-1 on Robert which I think is way too wide. A lot have said that they’re not impressed with Whyte and despite Helenius’ defeat he is considered a decent European level fighter.
Re: Betting thread
Helenius needs to win within the first 5 rounds IMO. After 5 rounds he's finished. I'm going to back Whyte to win in some shape or form. Not sure yet but I''ve already placed a smallish bet on Robert Helenius rounds 1-6 @ 18/1 because I can't see him being able to win any other way.boxingknockout wrote:JimGunn wrote:I'm taking a chance on the underdog tonight and the under. I've also backed Rob Grant @ 11/8 but he's been backed into odds on with most bookies now. Braehmer quit against a shot Cleverly so how he was favorite to beat Grant I have no idea.
Re: Betting thread
Brant much younger, Braehmer way past his prime and moving down in weight for the first time in years:
Rob Brant (-125) vs Juergen Braehmer $250.00 for $200.00
Rob Brant (-125) vs Juergen Braehmer $250.00 for $200.00
Re: Betting thread
Whyte v Helenius to go the distance at 2/1 looks decent to me. Also double it up with Taylor via stoppage to take the odds to just over 3/1.

Depends how Whyte fights. The blueprint is out on helenius. He has poor punch resistance and doesn't like pressure
Re: Betting thread
Small bet on the under 9½ for Whyte & Helenius this weekend. I've been hitting a lot of unders lately, many at or near + money. Hopefully someone gets knocked out or we get another early British stoppage in this heavyweight bout, especially with Helenius in on short notice:
Dillian Whyte/Robert Helenius Under 9½ (-110) $82.50 for $75.00
Dillian Whyte/Robert Helenius Under 9½ (-110) $82.50 for $75.00
Re: Betting thread
I also like the over in the main event. It's set pretty low at 4½ and even Anthony Joshua says Takam is a decent opponent and the fight is going to go some rounds:
Anthony Joshua/Carlos Takam Over 4½ (-110) $110.00 for $100.00
Anthony Joshua/Carlos Takam Over 4½ (-110) $110.00 for $100.00

One bet stood out to me for the weekend.
Joshua 25/1 to beat Takam in rounds 10-12 with Paddy. Amazing price, most others have got this at 12s.
I feel like Joshua is going to be cautious in this one, he knows Takam has an iron head and there's no point in taking chances if he can just box and get rounds in the bag. If Carlos can hang in there, he can last till the championship rounds.
5/1 for Joshua in rounds 7-12 is great too. I just don't think Carlos is getting blasted out, especially if he shows he can stand up to some early shots. The obvious concern is the late replacement status.
Another problem is that Paddy seem to be very screening-happy these days. I haven't put a bet on for ages and they restricted me to 17.63 for the first bet. Lol.

My guess if that they've got some algorithm that restricts certain people based on past activity that comes up with specific amounts to limit people to based on their assessment of the risk I pose to them.ShadrachSimmo wrote:17.63Riddick Blowe wrote:I agree.JimGunn wrote:I also like the over in the main event. Re: Betting thread
They do it all the time if you have a few winners on a sport, the only one they seem to let slide is Horse Racing. They offered me 4.63 on a boxing bet the other day. Basically they want you to close the account, they are not very confident with there boxing betting that is for sure. Not so long ago they offered me £25 on a 3/1 shot, so allowing me to win 75 quid, since that came up it's down to single digits now. Accountants not bookmakers.

Re: Betting thread
It's crazy, if they're pricing it at 25/1 when the rest of the market is going with 12s surely they want all the money I can throw at them? lolGlobalBox wrote:They do it all the time if you have a few winners on a sport, the only one they seem to let slide is Horse Racing. Re: Betting thread
I know mate it is crazy bookmaking really, if you take money at 25's you cut, surely you don't just cut the amount people can bet you cut your price, or at least that's how I used to do it when working for bookies in the past, once I had enough money on a price that was on offer then I shortened that and pushed other prices out to keep my percentages as they should be. Sadly that is a thing of the past, now they shorten the amount of money they take on a bet rather than back there compilers or prices against the punter.Riddick Blowe wrote:It's crazy, if they're pricing it at 25/1 when the rest of the market is going with 12s surely they want all the money I can throw at them? lolGlobalBox wrote:They do it all the time if you have a few winners on a sport, the only one they seem to let slide is Horse Racing. As I say nowadays there are people being limited or closed down at bookmakers every day, they only take huge bets from there top punters because when they do there accounts (accountants as I said) at the end of the year Mr X may have bet 200k but he has only taken back 150k so Mr X gets what he wants when he asks for it. When they come to people like us they see that we have staked say 1k on boxing and got back 2k, that is an account they don't want, certainly not on boxing and subsequently they programme in a cut price offer to any boxing bets that person asks for.
It is dreadful but sadly will only get worse.
