It's no secret, it's been well documented in the past.
It caused his withdrawal from the first date for the Lockett fight.
He was still struggling a little in the Lockett fight when it took place.
He had a recurrance just before the Coyle fight.
The injury is well managed.

Just to clarify the July date from the boxer's perspective.
The date was originally June, then moved to July.
Ryan's brother's wedding (and stag do) was arranged around the June date. Ryan is his best man. They are very close.
When the date was rearranged it clashed with the wedding etc.
The Promotor nor the fighter could have predicted the change to July.
Shit happens.
Just means Rhodes is fighting 8 ish weeks later.

I am surprised at your lack of urgency in this matter when you have championed Ryan Rhodes cause on many occasions!!! - for me your comment magnifies your inconsistency in dealing with what is best for Ryan - sorry merely an opinion!!!

I simply do not understand why you are so keen to chase after Lukas Konecny - which he is only rated highly within the IBF rankings - here is a shortpath where I got my information:

Ryan Rhodes is the WBC International Belt holder and as such by winning that bauble he gets a ranking within the WBC which enables him to fight for their world title - we all know with the WBC it sometimes takes an awful long time to force the issue through the manadatory route - but nonetheless pursuing Jamie Moore who also has a high ranking within the WBC would be the logical route as the winner of that fight would simply have to be considered very highly in any future rankings.

Now to the WBO - Lukas Konecny dropped a recent decision albeit a close one to the Champion Sergiy Dzinziruk - another link to Rhodes and Konecny is Rhodes last opponent Janos Petrovic - however lets get back to the WBO - the promoter of the champion is Klaus Peter Khol who in the past has done a lot of business with the newly formed f rank warren promotions and we all know how boxing politics works and as such if there is such a thing called logical - W arrens fighters Matthew Hall and Anthony Small will get to that champion before Rhodes.

The WBA - Konecny is ranked nowhere!!!

Now the IBF route has been mentioned - I note the IBF do not have a champion at present and the trail of thought must beif the top 2 ranked fight for the title - then Rhodes beating this geezer will naturally give him a reasonably quick shot - I will argue the earliest that will happen is the summer of 2010 and thats if everything falls into place - I state this because there are higher profile names below and if they pursue the IBF route then surely politics and more politics will get involved in this and I feel it will prove extremely difficlt especially accounting for voluntary defences for the new champion - I just cannot see this geezer being high profile enough to force a fight for that particular title.

Look at the WBC rankings again - that is the route Rhodes should be directed in - regardless of title shots or not there are high profile names in them rankings that it is worth Rhodes taking the risk and fighting for!!!

Merely an opinion - personally I think Konecny is the wrong fight for Rhodes as it proves nothing with regards world status!!!

It's the fight Ryan would love. But we have to wait until it suits Jamie's team unless we get to mandatory, and as Koneckey is rated above ryan in europe, its a positive fight in that direction also.
So fighting this fella, even tho not really heard of on the UK scene will gain in the IBF,WBO and European ratings. In Ryan's point of view that should be worth fighting him.

I personally think the fight with Moore would be massive. We'd love it as a WBC eliminator, both are highly ranked. But the European title is a big enough title for that fight in itself in my opinion.

A question for you, Adam and David - If Maloney Promotions and Steve Wood do not let their fighter - in this case Jamie Moore come over from Sky - is it allowable for your fighter Ryan Rhodes fight on a Sky promotion - or is this only allowable if a purse bid situation is won or lost?

I only ask this - to get the fight on its going to take Maloney Promotions or Hayemaker Boxing to concede the promotional rights if the TV companies will alow the fight to take place!!!

I am a fan, and have been a close friend of the whole family for as long as.
Having known you since 1999 and met and spoken with you on numerous occasions I dont get where you're coming from.
Yes, I champion his cause whenever the oppertunity arises.
As a consequence I have merely put forward the facts as they are known to me, and allowed to be in the public domain.
As nothing more than a fan, how would you believe that I could be quote "keen to chase Koneckney".
That is a decision for Rhodes and his team.
I personally hope beyond hope that the Moore fight comes off.
It will fill a decent sized stadium, is a classic 50/50 affair between two real honest pros who have the highest respect for each other.
If it can't happen in the short term, then the route taken by Rhodes has a massive impact upon bringing everyone around the table in the medium term.
As Dave rightly says, in the eyes of the purists, the Euro belt on the line is good enough, but if there was a World title on the line then maybe that could be the deal sealer.

As it though whilst I accept the explanation - I thought my post with a bit of info in above about the direction Rhodes should go in is a reaistic one!!

But yes Boxing Politics and yep money - what the opponent is asking for is a major stumbling block.
