Enzo Macc V Matthew Ellis

Everyone thought Enzo Macc was a damaged fighter after the Haye loss

but on the night he came out shaven headed and meant business he came out there and showed he was the best crusierweight in the world and destroyed Eliis

if only he could have performed like that against Haye - he would have destroyed David Haye

The great thing about this board as opposed to the Current Scene is that somebody can make a post like that and it will be taken in exactly the spirit intended. The Americans would take it literally and think you were either mad or stupid, and then you'd have to insult their lack of humourous acumen, and then it would all go downhill from there.

It wasn't so long ago that I used to wait with baited breath on a Friday morning for results from BN.

I was a big fan of Michael Moorer as a light heavy - I convinced myself that he was going to tear through the heavyweight division and become the new major force.

Only the biggest fights got reported on teletext so Boxing News was the only way to get the information on lesser fights. I remember the huge disappointment I felt on a friday morning reading that Moorer had sleep walked through ten rounds with Everett Bigfoot Martin - a fight that came immediately after his ten round struggle with giant Mike White.

From that point on I realised that Moorer was going to fall far short of my expectations.
