Christ, don't know where you live mate, but I see women scrapping in the streets almost as often as men round where I live. This notion that women lack the aggression for boxing is drawn from ridiculous victorian ideals about women as the 'fairer' sex. They used to believe that women should be forbidden from doing any strenuous exercise, for fear it would 'dewomanize' them.
Some fat tart tried to start on me in my local off license two weeks ago, threatening to 'buss me up' and I'm 6' 3" and 15 stone. In a fair fight she'd have had the crap kicked out of her in seconds, but that didn't seem to deter her one bit!

Not at all james. Im saying, and I do believe, that there are far less women interested in combat sports as through the ages its not been in their genes to fight. Yes, you've got toss-pots that kick off in pubs and horrible women like that, but many of the fairer sex, and it is a fairer sex, arent interested in busting each other up. Im thinking of women I know and they wouldnt be interested in boxing. In the gym theres one, she's rubbish but is good with training the kids.
All comes form hunter gatherer and all that doesnt it. Like Dats said nature v nurture etc...

It's not as simple as that though Wales, both men and women have testosterone, men have more and don't have much oestrogen in their bodies, which makes them statistically more aggresive and much stronger.
Having said that, serum levels of tesosterone vary wildly, and some women have a lot more than others.
Overall then, men are statistically more aggresive than women, but some women are more aggresive than others.
More than likely I would imagine, those that took up boxing, would be those women with higher levels of testosterone than average, which is almost certainly the case with the men who take up boxing.

Completely agree with you.
There might be more interest generated in female boxing, but i'll be shocked if it's to the extent were the standard increases.
What women, or even better, girls, think 'Oooo females can do boxing, i think i might just go along next week..' It's just not in their nature which i'm sure people will agree.
If the inclusion into the olympics harms the male side of the sport, with little gain for females, then i'm dead against it.

This is wrong, there are more medical risks with women boxing. Like it or not but thats fact. Their body is less designed to take the punisment, on a whole women are smaller and weaker boned (skull included), there would be a lot more complications with women taking blows to the stomach and breasts. Im all for equal rights but logic and sense should come first. Women and men are different physically, so it shouldnt be about 'equal rights' when it comes to this physical demanding and sometimes damaging sport.
