I feel that he should acknowldege that he lost the fight and state that he himself did'nt agree with the referees decision and then make moves to give John McDermott a re-match, in neutral territory, with Richie Davies as the referee, where the belt can be won, fair and square !!

That way, Tyson will still have the win on his record, but will go someway to ammending what has happenned and acknowledge that whilst he can't change the referee's decision, he can do the sporting thing and recognise, publically, that in his opinion, he lost the fight and does'nt deserve, on this occasion, to hold the English heavyweight belt.

It would also, shame O'Connor and those behind his decision, put Tyson in a better light and be good for boxing, which after tonight's shambles, has taken a serious dive in it's already shaky reputaion.

Of course not, this is boxing and the ref says he lost.
As a gesture the most he should do is give him a rematch

The referee has lost all moral authority and respect......

Hence a higher and more principled stance has to be taken !!

For this to happen, Tyson and the people around him would have to:

1) Be honest
2) Have integrity
3) Not be caught up in their own hype
4) Be able to be objective about the fight/result

Let us see what happens.

Yes it would be very decent for Tyson to admit he did not deserve it. But it is not going to happen....

I would like the BBB of C to in introduce some kind of appeal system for title fights.

I feel sad for English boxing tonight as it was so clear that this decision was suspect and that so many people in such a short period of time have voiced their views and created posts all disagreeing with this verdict...

No, becasue that fight was more equal, up untill the worsening of Rogan's horrendous cut.....

It was contraversial, in terms of the timing of the stoppge, but the fight had been quite equal

In this fight, which most people had for McDermott by three or four rounds, the referee scored it by six rounds to Fury.

I thought John would win before voted so I am disgusted by the result! Fury might lost clearly He nowhere neare European or world level yet! Was Fury big Mick chasing a t v deal pushed too early?

Agree with most of what you say but McDermott is not a puncher and Fury was often wide open and would have been knocked out by someone with Danny Williams power.
The most he will ever do is make an impact at domestic level.
Hennessy has proved again he makes poor matches, perhaps he just over estimates his fighters.

Fury never got half the rounds lol! I am sorry but some people thought Fury was the net best thing many on yhios forum got caught up in the press machine! Shame on you!

Abiding afterthought is Hennessey's panic-stricken face screaming at Fury in the last round, like a man who was watching his money going down the drain...

And, Maloney's interview. He was bang on the money.

But, final lingering thought is ambushed by the last words uttered on tonights programme by Johnny Nelson on the Fury-McDermott fight, "overall it was good" he said. What an analyst, but he is a Sky stalwart, never fails to find the 'positives'.

Ok guys....i'm a massive Fury Fan and looking through those eyes i may have slightly over-estimated my scoring to him.

After just watching the fight a 2nd time in a more analytical view i scored it 5-5 rds each so a Draw but probably would have given it to Macdermott if i had to choose a winner.

My Rds were Mac winning 1,2,4,7,8 and Fury winning 3,5,6,9,10.

I think an immediate Re-match is needed maybe in December.

the decision was bollocks. I saw it live without biased commentary and john won that fight

My afterthought - hold Fury back for the next couple of fights before throwing him in with a top domestic fighter again.

Yes maybe but i tried to see the fight more fairly the 2nd time around.

Actually i dont think a loss would have done Fury any harm at this stage of his career as i think it would have done him more good in the longterm.

I was waiting to see how Macdermott did tonite before making my PrizeFighter prediction and my opinion of Danny Williams(one of my fave fighters) has changed in that it wasnt such a bad performance after all to go 24 rds with Macdermott and maybe he has more left in the tank than i thought so i may just go for Danny now.
