after fight interview was better than the fight.
mosley getting in his face.
time for mayweather to box one of the top dogs at 147.
cotto-pac winner or mosley-clottey winner.
shame mosley went and scheduled a fight.
they could have worked something out for january, february time really.

Mosley Clottey ain't on I don't think. They backed out on Decemeber 26th date so it's up in the air at the moment. There was talk he'd fight Berto instead

Apparently HBO cocked on the date of the fight, they didn't think it would do a lot of buys over the xmas period.

agreed with what nicky said actually.
he doesn't rattle em off the way you'd like.
and he is more for the purist.
best talent since roy jones and still capable of becoming the best ever.
especially if he was to win the middleweight title.

He struggled at light middle against a fighter that was about cooked, if he did go for the mw title it would have to be very selective in who he stepped in against.

Yeah that's what i was thinking
I'd like to see him fight the Kelly Pavlik/Paul Williams winner for the Middleweight title next year. Let's face it, he asked a Lightweight to come up to Welterweight so he should man up now and move up to Middle himself.
I enjoyed the fight to an extent, seeing an athlete dominate like that can be a thing of beauty but this was so one sided that it got a bit tedious after 6 rd's when it was clear Marquez had no way of winning and was pretty much about whether he went the full 12 rd's or not.
Mayweather looked like a big welterweight tonite, more like a light middle and the only 3 boxers who have a chance to live with him are Mosley, Pacquio and Williams.

Mosley is a funny one, I don't know where to stand with that guy, he looked shocking against Mayorga then battered Margarito
Either way Mayweather will beat him handily, I honestly think Williams is the only guy out there at the moment that could beat him.

floyd back on top of p4p list after that.

Like f**k is he. You don't reward someone for making fights people don't want to see. Almost everyone predicted what would happen before hand. Since the second Castillo fight Floyd has fought 11 times and onlytwo of them were worthwhile matchup's (Hatton & DLH). Even then everyone using their head and not their heart predicted Floyd would school Hatton. 2 out of 11 is not p4p material. Hurry up and fight Mosley, Williams or the Pacquiao/Cotto winner tax dodger.

Don't get me wrong, Floyd is an incredible boxer, but he shouldn't really be fighting these small guys. Just like Ricky Hatton found, every time Marquez got close to Floyd, he was met with an elbow or forearm to the face or throat. He just couldn't get near Floyd.

Floyd was an ex featherweight champ too.
He has gone up as far as light middle, you can't accuse him of feasting on the little guys, JMM is one of the best guys out there.

he just cleaned out the guy that gave pac all sorts of problems.
no2 p4p fighter himself.
definitely back to no1.
or at least 2.
for me no1 again.

Hang on a moment though, forgive me if I'm wrong here, but surely the fact he outclassed Marquez, is more of an indication that Marquez doesn't belong at 147, he's only had one fight at at 135 before that for christ's sake.

I don't wish to be a party pooper, but last night's performance told us little about how Floyd would cope with the best welters. JMM was a super-feather as recently as 18 months ago, and Floyd, having failed to drain to the agreed catchweight, looked to be his heaviest ever in the ring.
When Pac and Marquez fought, it was on a level playing field, so the respective performances should not be compared. Although on a par with JMM at 126-130, Pac would clearly be a different proposition at 147 for Floyd, who last night turned in his typical lazy performance - an effort which would not be enough to defeat the likes of Mosley, Pac or Cotto. Last night was, in my opinion, a bit of a con job from beginning to end, and I thought the Sky commentators were guilty participants in the whole affair.

Mayweather would beat Mosley, Pac or Cotto but I agree that the likes of Adam Smith was a disgrace last night.

WIN!
It does get so very tiresome reading the opinions of those who picked PBF to beat Marquez before the fight (a few by stoppage, as I did) who now suddenly are "amazed" that JMM couldn't do a thing with him
despite saying this very thing beforehand, seemingly to justify staying up all night.
Marqy-Marq looked about two divisions smaller in there -- because he was. His punches had no effect, so Floyd could do what he pleased.
The whole farrago is bloody depressing, & I'm glad I watched it this afternoon rather than wasting my valuable beauty sleep.

I agree that the commentary was very poor last night. There is no disputing Floyd's skill but he was fighting a super-featherweight ffs. Yes he's had a layoff but he could have tested himself more IMO. He's in rarefied company and wants to be judged in comparison to the best, but look at how Leonard and Ali came back after long layoffs.

Superb post mate...go and cut and paste that into Current scene.
I probably would have said Mayweather would win by 10 rds to 2 before but damn those 24/7 episodes suckered me into thinking this would be competitive and close so i guess they did their job in that respect.
I think Marquez said it best by saying he would have done better if he'd had a few fights at welterweight first. He clearly couldn't carry the extra weight or have enhanced power....you simply dont get to 36 and suddenly just a whole weight and still be competitive unless you were boiling down to make the lower weight in the first place which Marquez never really had to do at Featherweight let alone Lightweight!
