Me and Jamie are still nice guys , just dissapointed that Ryan did not turn up when one of his co-managers was ready to take him and allegedly he wanted to come. Sometimes we have to look at the big picture and make our own minds up - Ryan will know he should have been there and will be more than likely regretting it now.
Anyway ,that is behind us now and the show goes on . My advise to you is get them short arms into your long pockets and buy a ticket before they have all gone.
Regards,
STEVE WOOD
Mr Wood!!!
Tell Maloney I will have 2 tickets please but only on the condition that he doesn't make any profit from them !!! seriously I will have 2!!
And also please tell Maloney I have paid for tickets before - if you remember me and you sat next to each other for the Scott Harrison v Michael Brodie fight!!!

Yes mate - he is a free agent - however he is I believe still managed by Mr W arren and Dave Coldwell.
Shame really as if he wins the European off Jamie then - its another 18 months with Mr W arren!!!

thanks for the clarification...after rhodes last fight on the lindsay undercard I'm sure I heard Coldwell say he was his sole manager now (or words to that effect) I thought the whole thing about vacating the British was a trade off for Warren releasing him from his contract...apparently not.

Cheer up Mooresy - at ;east I think you will get a extra credit for beating Macklin now, after tonight's result. Now that Macklin's a top 10 middleweight with British and Euro titles.
Macklin's just gone from domestic to Euro; hopefully Mooresy goes from Euro to world - soon.
Ryan Rhodes will be a stepping stone!

Hello Shaggy!!!
Who do you think wins the fight mate - I think its going to be a terrific scrap.
I honestly believe Rhodes chance is to catch Jamie early - I honestly believe once Moorsey gets his rythmn and is in his stride Ryan is going to find things very difficult which is why I think Team Rhodes have to seriously consider taking the gamble of putting "all their eggs in one basket" by gambling and going for it early.
Whilst I think Moorsey wins the fight - I honestly think there are some fans are not giving Rhodes the respect he deserves and its a lot harder fight for Moorsey than people are thinking at this present time.

I'm a big fan of both fighters, but Moore seems to be hitting the peak form of his career at just the right time, while Ryan just has that air of fragility about him that I think Jamie can exploit. I see a late stoppage by Moore but it's one of those fights where I wouldn't be that shocked if Ryan somehow pulled off the win... that's what makes it so exciting!

Don't worry Autobarn i'm happy pal!!
Lot of fuss about nothing really. Yes we weren't pleased that he couldn't come to the presser AT THE TIME, but that's it now, over and done with. Never mind.
It's gonna be a great fight, great bill, great atmosphere, and great occasion.
I've got a lot of respect for Ryan, he's done great to come back from his losses and turn it around, but I WILL beat him.

It was noted that the alleged Co-Manager who wanted to hold his hand is the one that has been sending Ryan solicitors letters and not flowers - It has not gone down well and Moore slammed Rhodes ‘ I have lost a lot of respect for Ryan now , it is a bullshit excuse and I thought he was more of a man than this. I did not have to give him this opportunity and he should be grateful for it , I was always going to do a number on him and this has fired me up even more so now ,expect a performance on the 23rd October2009’

Bullshit excuse? The same one that Steve Wood used for Quigley not doing one in Liverpool recently. Rhodes won't pull out of this one but Moore might, he's pulled out more times than a Catholic priest, he's the one I'd worry about if I was you. Rhodes, I hear, has even turned down a straight World title fight, for more money to take this one, so fair play to him.
.
It's not like you BC, but I think you may have missed a trick on this one - I thought you might have got Dean Powell or another trainer to train Rhodes for this one.

I expect Moore to win, even more so now that he is fuming.
Just looked in Ring mag's ratings: didn't know they did the right thing and put the Manc in their top 10 light middleweights.
Right, so what is the prize for Moore-Rhodes - WBC International? WBC eliminator? Is anyone certain which it will be?
A good domestic match and hopefully it has world title implications.

Because it's unprofessional and Rhodes has a history of pulling out of fights -- not to mention Moore's history of being fcuked around by opponents.

No, but that has nothing to do with it. Steve is hacked off because it's unprofessional, and probably worried because Rhodes has previous. We're talking about whether why he's
worried and
p1ssed off, not about the
moral rights and wrongs.

Are you stating that Wood did not have contact with Rhodes and one of his co-managers prior to the press conference?
I am armed with some of the FACTS - in my opinion Moore and Wood directed their frustration at the wrong person.
Now before you have a pop at my posts - run along and look into a boxers and managers contract - a boxer sometimes has to take the advice of his manager/managers.
In addition Rhodes has been completely professional in his approach to all of this - please contact the BBBofC if you have the slightest doubt!!!

Eh????
You came on and wondered why Steve Wood and Moore were so vocal in their condemnation of Rhodes for missing the conference. You said it was unusual.
I provided an answer to that: namely, it was unprofessional behaviour and that Rhodes has a history of pulling out.
This would explain why they would be frustrated and why they would be concerned.
There was no question of "Is it fair that they get so angry when Moore has missed a press conference/withdrawn from a fight?" That's a separate question which should be dealt with separately.
But there's no jumping on your posts. If you pose questions on a forum, you should expect them to be answered. You disagreeing with the answers does not constitute anyone jumping all over your posts.
I'm sure there are two sides to this, and I'm sure Ryan feels completely justified, but then it's not my money and time and effort going into organizing the conference or promoting the fight, so I don't know how people react to no-shows, no matter how 'professionally' the no-show has acted. I suspect, though, that "Sorry, can't make it tomorrow/this afternoon, because allegedly wants to be with me" would be very frustrating and concerning.
So that's my answer to your question.

Carbo,
How many times has Rhodes withdrawn from a fight ?
Of those withdrawals, how many were unjustifed, not backed up by medical evidence in the case of injury or illness ?
Same question to you about Moore.
I am puzzled where this line of "Rhodes has history" comes from.
Turning now to a Press Conference, is 18 hours sufficient notice of a cancellation ?
Ryan has spoken to Frank M consistantly from the date he was offered the fight, to the signing of contracts, right up to the day before Frank's recent problems began, and at no stage has there been any animosity whatsoever.
Oh and by the way, Dogbreath, Dean will be in Ryan's corner fight night.
