So you and George Benton did not rate Ali. That's fine and dandy.
Eddie Futch did, Cus D'Amato did, for example.
By that logic it must mean that you know more about boxing than they ever did, as you post here too, correct?
Horses for course, my friend.
When did you talk to Eddie Futch and Cus D'Amato?
LOL

Mike Tyson talked to Cus D'Amato and talked to him a lot.Mike Tyson was recently on Oprah and Oprah asked him if he could have beat Muhammad Ali. He paused for a moment, and said "Cus said Ali was the best fighter he ever saw and I can't contradict my mentor."
Gil Clancy also said he was a great fighter as did former light heavywight champ and author, Jose Torres. Many of his opponents- Foreman, Patterson, Norton, Bonavena,Folley, etcetera said he was a great ighter.

Allow me to step in and pick up granberry's lines, just in case he is delayed in the dressing room. I will do this in a poetic style if you don't mind
Your not answering the question!!!
WHEN DID YOU TALK TO CUS or GIL?
You can't answer because YOU NEVER HAVE and YOU NEVER WILL!!

I'm bored
Archie Moore on Muhammad Ali:
"People ask me now. If I fought Clay when I was young would the outcome have been different? I don't think so. One never knows for sure but I told you before. Ali would have beaten Joe Louis four times out of five. And I was a pretty good light heavyweight and Joe Louis would have beaten me."
Zora Folley on Muhhamad Ali:
"This guy (Ali) had a style all his own. It's far ahead of any fighter today. How could Dempsey, Tunney, or any of them keep up? Louis wouldn't have a chance. He was too slow. Marciano couldn't get him and he would never get away from Ali's jab... He's smart the trickiest fighrer I have ever seen. He's had twenty nine fights and acts like he had one hundred. He could write he book on boxing, and anyone that fights him should be made to read it."
Ken Norton on Muhammad Ali:
Frank: In your book you say Ali is the best ever. Do you believe that?
Norton: As far as I’ve been around, yes.
Frank: Is Ali the best fighter you ever fought?
Norton: Yes.

Former light heavyweight champion and author Jose Torres:
"You can't explain Ali in a conventional way because he consistently did the wrong thing in the ring. He didn't bend down. He didn't go to the body. He punched going backwards. He held his hands too low. He pulled straight back from punches. He didn't even throw combinations; he threw punches in flurries And then he would win for two reasons-speed and magic."
Former Olympic Middleweight Gold Medalist and Heavyweight Champion-Floyd Patterson
"...All I know is anybody that moved like Clay is going to give his opponent a lot of problems."

Ali's legacy
Muhammad Ali defeated every top heavyweight in his era, which has been called the golden age of heavyweight boxing. Ali was named "Fighter of the Year" by Ring Magazine more times than any other fighter, and was involved in more Ring Magazine "Fight of the Year" bouts than any other fighter. He is an inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and holds wins over seven other Hall of Fame inductees. He is also one of only three boxers to be named "Sportsman of the Year" by Sports Illustrated.
In 1993, the Associated Press reported that Ali was tied with Babe Ruth as the most recognized athletes, out of over 800 dead or alive athletes, in America. The study, conducted by Nye Lavalle's Sports Marketing Group, found that over 97% of Americans, over 12-years of age, identified both Ali and Ruth.

Thatone is a shill for Ali.
Just as I said.
Keep proving it---over and over and over.

Granberry, how is citing sources deemed to be reliable "shilling" ?
The fact you have to resort to puerile, hackneyed, ad hominem attacks shows my intellectual mastery of you.
I like robust repartee. It's a shame you can't give it to me.

Ali fought mediocre Ken Norton three times and still hasn't beaten Norton.
Ali fought weak-chinned Norton for a total of 49 rounds and never scored a knockdown.
In
49 rounds.
LOL
Ken Norton was knocked out by the great Jose Luis Garcia in 8 rounds.
Ken Norton was knocked out in 1 round by Ernie Shavers.
Ken Norton was knocked out in 2 rounds by George Foreman.
Where was the 'magic punch" that "knocked out" Sonny Liston when Ali fought Norton?
For
49 rounds ???
LOL
Remember, in order to sell their Religion of Ali,
Ali shills have to claim that mediocre Ken Norton was one of the 'greatest of all time.'
The antics the rabid shills for Ali go through are hilarious.

You have to forgive Granberry's ignorance. Perhaps he's new to following the sport.

Jack Dempsey said Ali's 'knockout' of Liston was a fake.
Joe Louis said Ali's 'knockout' of Liston was a fake.
Gene Tunney said Ali's 'knockout' of Liston was a fake.
Floyd Patterson said repeatedly that Ali's 'knockout' of Liston was a fake.
George Chuvalo, who fought Ali twice and wasat in the third row at ringside for the Lewiston fraud, said "It was a phoney."
Georgie Benton said it was a fake.
Georgie Benton said to me, more than once,
"Watch Liston from the moment he gets up, to the time the film ends. Watch everything he does, every second. He has NO characteristics of a knocked out fighter. Everything he does from the moment he gets up to the end of the film shows it was a fix."

Blah, Blah, blah ....The fight was fixed....Blah, blah, blah....
Everything about Ali's subsequent history suggests he would have turned Old Man Liston inside out. Ali was bigger, stronger, faster, and didn't have a heroin habit.

I can't tell you how impressive that is.

Eddie Futch was a disgusting self-promoter who cultivated the newsmen who never had a fight with their own sisters and didn't have a clue what boxing was.
They were SO GRATEFUL that Eddie was there to put his arm around them and tell them what to write--
of course that Eddie Futch was the "greatest of all time."
And they all lapped it up and eagerly reported the disgusting self-promoter's unrelenting praise of himself.
And now members of the Relgion of Ali
dutifully repeat and bow before garbage from the mouth of their exalted Eddie Futch.
