Thats a bloody good point. After the class Moore and Rhodes showed in their post fight interview, for Napa to say he didn't need to get out of second gear was pretty shocking!!

very true mate napa had no respect wich was discusting in my eyes and what a bloke jamie moore is the way he was with rhodes at the end brilliant to see really was i just hope they stick to the rematch and no stupid decisions like that last one im a VERY FIRM BELIEVER that to beat a champion you have to BEAT a champion and he didnt even the security at the venue were shocked and most of the crowd wer quite discusted but gary will come again i hope he has earned some respect of the forum for a sterling performance against napa well done napa and well done gary davies your still a champion and he will be back cheers guysthepocketrocket wrote:leeharding wrote:true mate no way should he have lost that belt mate but he did and whats done is done im certain now tho gary is up there 2 mix it wioth the lads at the top of the domestic seen and only had 13 fights frank maloney was discusting the way he just fucked gary off and was up napas ass ide say he is a pudendum imo for doing that and napa didnt show gary one bit of respect after the fight wich i 2 thought was discusting but hay its boxing enjoyed last night cant wait for the next one thanks ladsdiggler wrote:was a more entertaing fight than i was expecting was a really close fight davies done well considering it was the first time past 7, i thought a draw would of been a fair result

i bet on Napa to win on points, and was a little concerned in the 11th that Davies was going to last the distance! Will be interested to read the fight report.
Re: gary davies v ian napa
for saying he didn't need to get in 2nd gear in a fight where he won a majority descion I had it a draw. He should of show some class davies done excellent considering how many fights he'd hadDes1 wrote:How? Explain why you think Napa acted like a tool thendiggler wrote:napa acted like a tool

speak for yourself mate i was 15 yards from the ring and thought Napa had it, clearly.neil hibbert wrote:majority of people rngside had gary winning the fight by 2 which is what i had it but seen the punch stats and theres no way ary only landed 82 times, not going to complain because garys happy with his performance and considering what happend tue which i wont bother going into he got the full 12 out and thought he won the fight.fair play to napa though and well done
to me and my mate, while gary surprised me a bit with his boxing and especially his movement, Napa was landing the majority of the clean scoring shots.
put it this way where i was sitting it looked like Gary's head had sweat spraying off his head from good punches frequently, whereas it seemed so much less often he did the same to Napa
i agreed with Watt's scorecard more or less watching it on skyplus when i got back.
but gary did himself proud especially coming back with punches in the last 2 after taking a beating. he showed great stamina
sorry can i just say again saying that everyone at the venue thought davies won, just ain't true.
and for a start most of the people in-venue and watching that fight were davies fans, so what do you expect?

re Napa being a dick diggler:
i didn' think he really did need to get out of 2nd gear so IMO whether he should have said it or not, he was speaking the truth.

Re: gary davies v ian napa
you couldn't argue with the result as a lot of the rounds were tight just thought he should have shown some class

Re: gary davies v ian napa
what, you mean like some fighters lie and call their opponent who has ran for 12 rounds a great warrior and a champion?
whats un-classy about saying the truth?
whats un-classy about saying the truth?
Re: gary davies v ian napa
he only got the majority descion its not like he batterd and outclassed davies, nothing wrong with telling the truth but saying that didnt give the true reflection of the fight, napa is a class domestic operator and davies was in the fight all the way

I know alot of people that had gone up there, and they said Napa had won by at least 3 rounds..
From what they did show on TV it did refected that.... I cant see the fuse with what Napa said in the Intherview..
Re: gary davies v ian napa
davies fans are obviosly dissapointed, but from what i saw and ok not enough to score the fight as it was on tv davies did great, but it certainly looked like a seasoned pro and a grafting novice to me with napa winning everything, as garys shots were missing or been couhgt on the arms, if napa was enything like a puncher he would had davies out of ther early as he was catching him flush reguarly.
and why should napa gush allover him post fight, he dident pose him too much trouble and probably dident, have to go up a gear. that said well done to gary for what hes achievd and good luck in the future.

Oh, I can see what you mean. To be honest I think that was ego speaking, I think Napa expected to just walk all over Davies and the fact that he didn't by saying he didn't need to come out of 2nd gear its sort of an excuse.diggler wrote:for saying he didn't need to get in 2nd gear in a fight where he won a majority descion I had it a draw. I spoke to Ian for BS, it should be up on there soon and he does have some words of comfort for Gary!
I look forward to the interview terry

agreed mate. i was sat with my mate Matt who as you know is a credible witness. we were both pretty much of the opinion that Napa won all bar maybe 3 rounds, 4 max i guess. turned up the heat very nicely in round 11 and nearly stoped him.
as a sidenote on that subject, when Moore was knocked down, i turned into Duke McKenzie, and was yelling 'he's gone, he's gone, he's GONE' for about the next 2 minutes.

damn right re 10/8 round mate, if ever there was one of those 10/8 rds without a knockdown, it was that oneTerry D wrote:Is that Matt B? Won't argue with those cards then! I had it roughly the same, 3 rounds for Davies. I gave the 11th as a 10-8. That sounds a fitting tribute. You've let the side down a bit though, it is "He's gone, John, gone!"
different Matt. just a mate who happens to be another one of those sharp insightful matts who make good calls about boxing. great guy to watch a fight with.
Re: gary davies v ian napa
Can I just say - and I meant to write this a bit ago - that for someone who has in the past put down title fights involving Gary Davies as sub-standard, his performance in the last two rounds against Napa, when he looked out on his feet, was remarkable and he will have my complete respect in the future because of it.
