Froch v Dirrell - Was it really a robbery?

On a scale of 0-10, was the Froch points win a robbery?

10 - At least Dick Turpin wore a mask - blatant as you like

Sh*t fighters don't beat Pascal and Taylor. You didn't watch the fight, so shut up.
My OPINION is based on those two fights you mentioned. F*ck it maybe sh*t is too harsh. Anyone who gets in a ring gets my respect. Can't be bothered arguing. I didn't watch the fight so I WILL shut up.

We whine aobut journeymen looking to survive, here was a supposed top-class boxer who had talk a good fight completely failing to produce one.

This is the first I've seen of any controversy. I wasn't sat near people who are biased, either. It just seemed that Froch won it and the only eyebrow raiser was the SD decision. I'll have to watch it again, the thought of that makes me want to weep but it has to be done.

Both men were poor and the fight was awful. I think that Dirrell has to carry the majority of blame for this as Froch is limited but he is fun under the right circumstances. Dirrell, on last night's showing (and his career thus far if we are bing honest) is pretty dreadful. I will watch it again though.

Taylor should retire and they should draft in Green. If the whole point of this tourney is to entice people to follow the fights/fighters then Dirrell needs to look to himself, as no one in their right mind will be salivating over his next contest. A Dirrell-Ward fight will see be terrible, and I like Ward.
I AM IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH WHAT YOU SAID HERE , I TOO HAD FROCH UP , BY 4 ROUNDS AND KNEW NOTHING OF ANYONE DISAGREEING WITH THE DECISION UNTIL COMING ON HERE TONIGHT , MYSELF AND PEOPLE SAT NEAR ME WERE SURPRISED IT WAS EVEN A SPLIT , I REALLY CANT UNDERSTAND ALL THIS

I'm flabberghasted, but I respect your opinion Terry.

I can only guess that it was hard to see which shots landed from ringside. From TV it was clear that Froch hardly landed a glove on Dirrell.

Agree regards Taylor, it would be unfair to let him fight on against the dangermen of the division, he's shot to pieces mentally. There will just be more KO's.

Hopefully, Dirrell will have learnt from last night, that you have to put things beyond doubt. I honestly think he could have stopped Froch, but his natural inclination seems to be to avoid altercation, which is a shame, because he is a beautiful puncher when he lets his hands go.

If Dirrell starts to sit down on his punches, he could be one hell of a fighter, right now he's a goddam bore.

It was a truly awful fight, on that I concur. It sucked.

It was a woeful performance from both men in my opinion. Froch had no idea how to slow his adversary down, or to cut off the ring.

Dirrell was very annoying to watch, but as I said before he showed a little of wha tI believe he is capable of in the last three rounds.

I thought Dirrell was robbed, no way can I accept that Carl "won" that fight. He barely landed anything - it was a horrible fight, but it looked like Dirrell was dictating the fight, and landing the cleaner punches.

Carl actually looked intimidated in there, over the first 5 or 6 rounds, maybe by the speed of Dirrell, he seemed so catious of getting hit by any counters. He'd get close, shape up, then not throw any punches.
I think the Taylor fight, the first 11 rounds when he was near outclassed, took some of that confidence out of Carl - just look at the way he stormed into Pascal, compared to last night's tame display.

It's a robbery to the extent that Froch was hitting fresh air all night, whilst eating plenty of punches that shook his legs, but still got the win.

Anyone got the fight upped yet?

What's wrong with adopting tactics to win a fight,if he stood and traded from round 1 he was likely to get ko'd so moved around alot it's no crime, yes it was boring but to me it showed that froch wasn't able to deal with that style and for all his pre fight boasting about power,he was the one who was stunned at times

Just add up the scores and you can see that 24% gave it to Froch, and most people gave the fight to Dirrell with varying degrees of strength, its not rocket science.

Wow, what a diverse range of opinions from a lot of people who know their onions.

Perhaps it's one of those fights where one sees it markedly different from ringside than from telly.

i didnt see the fight, where can i watch this fight? Is it on youtube yet?

It sounds like Froch wasn't thw same fighter as he was vs Pascal - do people think if he had been the same guy who took it to Pascal, he could have done better? Or did Dirrell just not allow him to fight that fight?

I had an excellent view in the arena and this is pretty much how I saw it too. I'm shocked to read all 'fix' threads. Will have to watch it again just to see if a TV view made the whole thing look different.

I watched from BLOCK14 and had froch winning fairly easy.... maybe his flurrys on the ropes werent landing as clean(obviously you can see alot better through the TV camera) as they looked.

That's probably it i reckon. Froch might have looked like he was landing from wherever people were sat, but on tv you could see that nothing he was throwing was hitting Dirrell (bar the odd few).
