Khan offers the same lenght as Holt and has proved he can fight off the back foot now. He'll also likley have home town advantage. If he replicated Holt's peformance he'd get the nod on the cards. Bradley's bussling style where shots are followed with his head has worked well for him, but its not exactly p4p boxing. He'll also struggle to bring his head into play against Khan. I don't think its much of a stretch to imagine Khan taking a wide decision against Bradley. I'd say its a 50/50 fight and far from the easy nights work for Bradley some are painting it to be.
WTF are you talking about 'Holt lost an extremely close fight'?!?!?!?!? Outside of the 2 KDs Bradley won every miniute of the fight beating the fight out of Holt and showing some serious heart as those KDs were pretty heavy. Holts style was tricky and he is fast and rangy against teh shorter Bradley (Hattons height), so Bradley had to get in close and grind him down while Holt hung on for dear life

Khan is another tricky proposition for Bradley, Amir gets underrated on this forum he has a load of world class tools
I thought it was a two point fight at best. A fight Bradley won with his bussling style rather than his skill. If you think Bradley won 'every minuite' of the fight outside the two KD's we were watching different fights. Holt fought too cautiously to get the nod, but he was well in it. 'Every minuite of the fight' is the exact type of exaggeration I'm talking about when Bradley is mentioned. Thankyou for illustrating my point and for your wonderful use of exclamations. :TU:

Sadly for him a chin isn`t one of them ..

Bradley may not be a KO-merchant .. but he had enough to drop Witter very-very heavilly .. could you honestly see Khan getting up from a punch like that? Because I certainly don`t.

Thing is. Bradley would land heavilly at some stage. There is no doubt. To compare him against an old Barrera who wasn`t even a fully fledged lightweight .. a pedestrian plodding Kotenic and a previously unproven guy with a good record is being rather short-sighted.

I'm not convinced he would be able to land that shot on Khan. I think he'd have to get inside and grind Khan down over several rounds to stop him. Of course, if he did land a looping right hand, he'd stop Khan, but then again, most fighters would stop Khan if they landed flush. That's why its difficult to have much faith in Khan.

Actually, outside the knockdown rounds, and one other round which I believe was the ninth or tenth, Bradley won every round on two scorecards, my card and many people I have discussed with had the fight the same way. Bradley won that fight with his workrate, stamina, and hand speed, all of which could be considered skill. Holt couldn't keep up with him after the first except for brief periods here and there and Bradleys speed allowed him to score points through out. I don't think PN is really proving your point. It was clear there was only one winner.

Bradley has deciving power as well and showed against Peterson he can box or brawl. Really tough fight for Khan in my opinion. Bradley is faster, busier, tougher, and more well conditioned than any fighter he has faced as a professional. He will be right in his face all night long, and has the speed to land and enough power to hurt Khan. That said Khan has the height, reach, and has shown he has great skill and boxing ability. Basically he has the tools to beat Bradley. However I believe Bradley has the tools to beat Khan, so thats why this matchup is so exciting.

However we know how FW operates and he will never let Khan take on a challenge like Bradley unless he doesn't have to. We all know Bradley is willing and game to fight anyone, anywhere.

come on gentlemen tim bradley beats amir all ends up. he thinks well during a fight, has under-rated power, has a better chin than khan and is clever at cutting off the ring. plus he gets into the ring knowing he is the better man - unlike kotelnik and the other joker last week. i still dont think amir is a very good backfoot jockey (he is improving) but bradley stops our boy around 8 or 9.
i have been quietly impressed with TB for a fair amount of time and he really is one of the best L/Welters out there. only one thing....it just will not happen. thebutch has got it right, load of old balls from FW.

I scored the fight 114-112, if I recall correctly. I'd call that a close fight and certainly any 114-112 fight I've ever seen I've never felt the need to say that the winning fighter won every minuite of every round outside two KD's. It's not like Holt wasn't having plenty of success. Even you yourself contradict PN's assertion by giving Holt more than just the 2 KD rounds. So I'm fairly happy with my original statment. He didn't win every minuite of every round and was pushed hard all the way by Holt. He also showed enough vulnerability to suggest he in not infallable. Of course you don't have to agree, but equally you aren't convincing me it wasn't a close fight.

With your card you only had Holt winning two out of the ten rounds in which there was no knockdowns, so even by your standards the action without the knock downs was one sided. Bradley didn't win every round outside the knockdowns, but he was only one round away on two of the official cards as well as mine. The only reason the scoring was relatively close was because of the knockdowns, otherwise it was a one sided fight. I don't see how you can say Holt pushed him from rounds 2-11, when you only gave him two of those and many others only gave him one.

I agree that Bradley has some vulnerabilities, he is not a perfect fighter, but he also has many strengths that give him a realistic shot at beating any 140 pounder in the world.

He bookended the fight with KD's and took 4 rounds of Bradley on my card. It was a 2 point fight. It was a close fight. He didn't win every minuite[/i] of every round outside the 2 KD's as PN asserted. That was an exaggeration that both you and I seem to agree on.....

I also never said he didn't have a realistic shot of beating any of the belt holders at 140lb. I just said Bradley Vs Khan is far from a foregone conclusion and Bradley Vs Holt highlight vulnerabilities that Khan could exploit. I stand by those statements.

Sorry for the triple post, but I'd also question whether he has underrated power anymore. Plenty of people in this thread have now acknowledged his power despite the fact he hasn't scored a KO in nearly three years. I'd say his power is generally well regarded in that respect.

Bradley is one of those typical low-profile Americans who is loved on here but has to take every fight he can get because a: he can't sell any tickets, b: he is not guaranteed to fight on US TV.

Anyone who had to take any away fight against Junior Witter brings very little to the negotiating table. He needs something big to make a breakthrough to get to Vegas, otherwise he is condemned to a career in low-rent casinos or as an away fighter.

i agree with your statement. he gets respect for being a harcore fan's fighter. he did it the hard way and all of a sudden he is god-like.

i normally like the aggressive fighters but have yet to be fully convinced by this tim batley. cnsideirng his aggressive style, he doesn't hit very solidly. he was hitting campbell and holt with arm punches, though his jab is nice.

a good sharp rangy boxer should beat him. holt was shaking him with jobs, dropping him with power shots. holt is really weird, has poor workrate, not the toughest cookie around - yet he had badley in big trouble and made him look awkward a number of times.

on the other hand, B has fought a number of slick americans and this may help him to continue to develop.

At the moment Bradley is the top man at LWW and I think Kahn will fight him but not next. Kahn could do with a couple more fights with good fighters like Paulie and maybe Witter to gain experience and develop his technique. If Bradley keeps winning, then in two or three fights time Kahn vs Bradley could well happen and would be built up over here into a big event (if both kept winning they'd be a few belts at stake) and I think Kahn has the ability to outbox him but it would not be easy and is a very loseable fight.

i think bradley is good and i make him favourite.

however i don't think it's a no win fight for khan.

i give him a chance because bradley isn't a big big puncher.

i also think khan has better speed and skills. :box:

i just see bradley staying with him and making it hard for amir.

i think khan would lose a close-ish fight on the cards. :(

Can anyone confirm if Khan has his own promotional company?

If he has then at some stage, that could be a help in respect of making a bout with Hatton as Ricky has stated it would have to be him & Amir promoting the bout if it happened.

A Witter fight could be marketed and built up or is the red face cos you think he's not ready to face Witter yet or cos I used the word good in describing Witter (I think you are a none Witter fan?)?

nice move. really nice. let ppl believe it's bradley, then bring in bradley's 3 round headbutt victim who probably blacklisted himself from premium TV by showing he wanted to quit - nate campbell.

nice one.

i just watched the full bradley-peterson. i didn't know he looked that good - all the way through. vs the better of the 2 brothers, a very tough dude.

as i said about pascal, who beat diaconu in another sensational rematch. bradley "fought like a man possessed." bradley and pascal both throw some good combos to the body, before slipping out, a strange in-then-out move that you have to have some physical talent to pull off.

i was not impressed by bradley vs holt. but he has clearly improved since then and we're not going to see the big names, never mind khan, take him on.

marketed by who?

DG.

witter has just quit in a world title fight.

he's not promoted by warren and won't be given a shot by him.

even warren ain't stupid enough to give witter the shot and want options.

witter wants to campaign at 147 from now on anyway.

he said he wants one last go at 147.

i think khan would beat witter for what it's worth.

and yes i dislike mr witter. :OhYes:

Could all the "Khan Critics" - me being one of them - be forced to eat humble pie?

I really get confused when I see discussions take place on how good Khan is - always said it offensively he is outstanding - but a time will come when he is forced onto the back foot and its then we will find out how good Khan really is.

He's fast, skilled, aggressive, in great shape, and always working from the first bell until the final bell. Not to mention he has been beating some very solid opposition of late. I can see why people are excited about him, no ones saying hes the messiah or anything along those lines, just a very solid fighter who has what it takes to beat anyone at 140 on a good night.
