Hello!!!damianhucker1 wrote:spud , you keep mentionining lee swaby , but he promotes now , so if it was his own show , which i imagine it was , then so what if he got almost nothing , its perfectly normal for smaller promotors to not make a profit on a show , i do white collar shows and my next show may be the first one i take a loss on , but i knew it was going to happen eventually , i thought id done well to not lose anything on my first 3 , maybe ill bang out a load of tickets in this month leading up , who knows but im expecting to make a small loss , no doubt lee was fully expecting to not be earning vast sums either.Spud wrote:danh wrote:i still see everybody saying the same thing about you in boxing nothing changes, i hope every bit of bad luck comes your way think we no who lies cos theres a few people who would vouch for that cannon fodder![]()

B*llocks!!!
Your first line is the biggest piece of sh*t written on here!!! Steve Wood is the most approachable bloke I have met in boxing - your deal for that particular fight is nothing strange in boxing and if you did not have the intelligence to figure that out then tough sh*t!!! - I recently went to a show where Lee Swaby fought Dave Ingleby and after everything was paid for he ended probably less than you for his fight - he didnt moan about it - or try to blacken someones name like you have - he has put it down to experience and got on with life.
where have i spelt my name wrongSpud wrote:danh wrote:spud watever your fcking name is you no nothing about what happened u gobshite, steve told me i had to sell over 50 tickets a week before the fight which i did and more i was put on the bill with 8 days to go. the night before the show i went to his office with tony tagg thats when he come up with the poop about i pay my opponent first he never said that in the first place. and why would maloney put me on a bill if he didnt want me on he was the boss he didnt have to its not as if he was struggling to sell tickets with haye and jamie moore is it. i sold more tickets than some of the lads on the bill cos i asked a few of the lads what the had sold. secondly steve if nobody wanted to train me why have i been offered by 3 different trainers in the last 12 months to come to there gym, if i wanted to i could be in the gym tomorrow morning nobhead. spud get your fcking facts right u ballbag before u gobbing off all the time ive seen your comments u mouthy get. and woods your medicals were paid for wen u left me short change after the david haye bill if you got any issues ring me you got my number.![]()

MachoMan09 wrote:I agree, mate. An interesting topic. I have tried to bring up purses before and everybody gets their knickers in a knot. I am glad this one has been allowed to flow. A lot of armchair followers of boxing do not realise just how little most pro fighters get paid. It is, in part, because they are armchair fans that the purses are often as paltry as they are.Old bones Ian wrote:One of the more interesting threads i've seen.
Alot i didn't know about purses etc.
I started a small hall thread a month or so back, imploring people to make the effort to get to as many shows as possible. More bums on seat equals more money for fighters.
