My key points in the fight.
The reff should have given out more warnings and points deductions but it was clear that most of those warnings and deductions would have gone against Hoppa which would have not helped his cause had the fight gone the distance.
In the 1st round Hoppa tried to throw Shane like he threw Wilson in his last fight. But Shane reversed it and threw Hoppa on to the ground which was quite funny.
In the 2nd round we got to see some jabs from Shane as well as combos but Hoppa was quick to stop all that and quickly got close to Shane so he could perform the 'clinch'.
During the clinches (no-one has mentioned this) you can see Hopoate trying to headbutt Shane on numerous occasions.
The reff is the closest to the action he can see and hear the fight better then any of us. So it was clear to him as it was to me who was the wrestler and who was the boxer in this fight.

Hoppa's final action in the fight, before the ref punted him in frustration, was to head-butt Shane.
I thought the ref was going in again to caution Hoppa for another head-butt but like the rest of us watching either live or on TV, was stunned that the ref gave Hoppa the flick early.
But on reflection, Hoppa richly deserved that decision, in bringing that wrestling merde to the ring, as there was no way he was going to change from that mauling style, as another KO on his resume would send him back to the prelims.
The hot-dog stand awaits!

Shane wasn't faultess in that fight, when Hoppa got in close Shane was more than happy to hold on to Hoppa's arms rather than work on the inside. At one stage I even heard the ref say he would DQ both fighters...

Ben has a kickboxing match on April the first, and I won't do that joke again. I still think Hoppa would be better off as a wrestler. Natural "heel."
