It was the worst Prizefighter event so far, and by a very long way. Really awful stuff.

Well Thanks lol. I just looked at his record as an am, and he hasn't lost a round since going pro. Plus he has a great jab, over 3 rounds that counts

Had a tenner on Dickinson simply because he was on the opposite side of the draw to Herbie and a decent price(6s).On that showing,he may have cause Herbie a few problems.Darke said Hide was asking about Dickinson earlier on in the night and then he pulled out after he did Krence in a round....

Did you see the records of the Boxer's beforehand?The standard was never going to be up to much.Prizefighter is not really about that.Its getting eight men in there and seeing who wins.Dickinson won that,comfortably,because he was the best schooled boxer of the lot.Herbie was there to give it prestige,and,being Herbie,provided a bit of drama.I found it all interesting,and even the bouts that were crap,at least they only last three rounds.

surely if he was having a world title fight, he'd have had the bugger by now.

if you win prize fighter there's no guarantees that you're going anywhere. for instance the promising martin murray and ryan brawley seem to be well off the radar.

but if you're supposed to be world class, and you don't win it....doesn't look too good, does it?

I hadn't really followed the participants as wasn't planning to be back in the UK, but ended up flying in yesterday so wanted to get my 'Friday Night fix'!
I'd actually disagree with you about Prizefighter's aim though as the previous 'episodes' I'd seen (not all)were far more competitively matched and had better conditioned fighters at least. Last night looked one step up from a bunch of pub brawlers at times.

Agree, didn't enjoy it at all.

if herbie had fought on, and got stopped on a cut in his next fight, the defeat would have been registered and hide would have lost his world ranking....simple.

all in all its the right decision for herbie, lets hope that hearn or someone else gets herbie a title shot. he certainly still has the power for an older fella, the last thing you lose is your punch.

Well done to Dickinson.

He was my tip beforehand and just fancied he would do ok bearing in mind how well schooled he was.

Showed decent dig as well which was a bonus.

I think he can to British title level within 6 fights and who knows from there.

Travis Dickinson hits like a sodding mule as well so we could have a good story brewing in the North East

i was at the back....and it wasnt the best tournament so far.

herbie out was a huge dissappointment.

Krence got totally discombobulated.... Dickenson has classy shots...his timing was great but from where i was the shots didnt look hard at all...but the fighters were certainly feeling them.

and the usual Corbett rent-a-mob caused trouble ...not sitting down and waving flags in everyones face so nobody could see the fights.... bunch of t***S

Brooks was so brave - what balls he had. However, the BBBoC should really be looking at this event in future. There is no way any decent coach would have Brooks sparring with Hide at this stage of his career.

It was dangerous - man against boy (albeit very very brave, too brave).

Thats true. But i also think that you've got more chance of being projected onto bigger things if you come into the tournament without a promoter (and then win it), which would then allow Matchroom to sign you up and throw you into some sort of title shot.

For instance, in the case of Martin Murray he was signed up with Steve Wood of VIP promotions at the time and you can be assured that VIP promotions werent going to give a share of their asset to another firm, albeit a promotional firm that had more clout.

Sorry but Herbie SHOULD NOT have entered, he may have won but it has done him no favours. He could not put Brooks away and was caught a few times. Tony Bellew stopped Wayne and Wayne was much fitter then. Herbie thought he could walk through this easily and was proven very wrong.

Should that solicitor in the first fight have been allowed in? Dangerous if you ask me, fair play to him for having the bottle though.
