I'll be honest mate I haven,t done anything to be ranked anywhere near that high yet.. I can and will try though mate. I had a little giggle to myself when I seen it
thanks though mate, I hope you keep that faith in me as the journey continues. As for Jaffa, give him time, he did have a bad night but eh it happens.. I wish him luck for the future I really do..

After three rounds I nodded off. True story.Dioufy wrote:Ouch, I had Jeffries losing that, and his excuse that he thought it was a 6-rounder, well that's just tosh. It was announced as an 8-rounder and Jeffries was definitely listening to Logan because he was laughing when Logan introduced him as a silver medal winner.
And after 6 rounds, I had it level anyways.
Good read there David.. a few fights away from the region might be helpful to him, must be a lot of pressure being the most notable prospect in such a passionate area.DavidPayne wrote:Interesting one this, the fight itself kept reminding me of my favourite circuit pro Youssef Al Hamidi fighting Anthony Crolla. Don't know why but it did.
Anyhow, my thoughts on this.

True... On a slightly seperate note, I was listening to Steve Bunce interview with Eubank on his show a few weeks back and they discussed James DeGales irritation at Eubanks comments. Apparently they (Eubank and DeGale) were speaking when DeGale said he ran his gym, in other words, that he was the top dog. Eubank retorted, "well you'll never be champion then". His belief was the stardom and fame came too easy and that without having to battle every day, the set up would be detrimental to DeGale (which DeGale obviously lovedDavidPayne wrote:Thanks James, personally I'm with Hurlock:-)
Tony strikes me as a good guy with talent.
But a boxer's ego is a delicate baloon, easily inflated, easily pricked.
Spud makes an interesting point, which isn't a sentence I often construct, when he reminds us of Tony's preference for personal, one-to-one attention as opposed to the group dynamic of Joe G's place or perhaps Brian Hughes' place.
Each to their own of course.
I think at the time he said it was because Joe G didn't have enough time with him, what with a day job and other fighters, isn't that right?DavidPayne wrote:My point about Tony preferring one-to-one is redundant. That wasn't why he joined Bobby or left Joe. My misinformation.

Yeah thats what i was getting at Tony,Regarding Taylor that is a very valid point and he's had a vey successful career but to me he had the ability to be even better than he was/is!His athletic ability was very high and he had solid boxing skills but he's been beaten by guys in Pavlik and Froch who i dont actually believe are as talented he is but maybe more determined though!I do understand your point completely regarding boxers having to switch off though as otherwise it would drive you insane with all the pressure and focus that you guys put in to it!Nice talking to you anyway mate,You didnt jump down my throat for criticising him but you were fair and balanced and stated your opinion so im grateful for that. :)Bomber 1 wrote:lefty wrote:I know this might sound harsh but im not totally convinced that Jeffries is 100% commited to boxing.I remember speaking to him on twitter and he said he doesnt even like boxing aside from it being his craft.Ive also been reading his tweets for ages and he was constantly moaning about the gym work he had to do and how he couldnt eat what he wanted, etc and he also seemed to be talking about going on holiday every other week!Ha.My point is if you dont actually like boxing aside from it being your job then you're not going to be emotionally invested in it like someone who loves the game!Someone who loves the game will be watching footage of old fighters and trying to use bits and pieces for there own game and just generally trying to improve.
I agree to a certain extent BUT it didn't do Jermain Taylor any harmI personally love the game but it can be hard and I do enjoy switching off after fights. After that I will add that after a week off Im itching to get back in the gym.. I think it's a double edged sword.. Ultimately it's a sport that you have to really live if you wanna do anything in it though, If I could give any young kid any advice then I would just have 2 words, LIVE IT........

Sorry reply a bit late have been washing, ironing and stuff dont have much time unlike u big poster who has time to check spellings and number of times people have posted I did not disrespect any boxers just sick of crap tony getting it seems winning a medal is more of a hindrance than a help in boxing these days.See You chump sorry meant champ spelling mistake.Deserter wrote:The fact that 99.9 of the posters here are male and that you wrote in quite an aggressive style means that thinking you were a man was a reasonable assumption rather than going to show that I know nothing.jackhammer wrote:love the fact u think im a fella which goes to show u know nothing if u read my post correctly i wasnt disrespecting any boxers just people who think they know and think its ok to criticise personally, there is nothing wrong with constuctive criticism and you ignored the fact that banbula is a capable boxer, there are plenty of boxers out there who have lost or drawn and learnt by it, as i said its a learning curve hopefully he will come back stronger, is there a rule i have not read on this site to say i cant express an opinon on my first post! so goodnight to all those unbeaten world champions posting on this site.
I did read your post correctly and I replied to it correctly. It seems it's only you who has problems with reading properly - and with spelling properly as well for that matter.
In a bid to get you to understand what everyone else seems to have grasped, I haven't ignored that fact that Banbula is a capable boxer, rather I've pointed out that given Jeffries' amateur pedigree and the level of hype surrounding him, he would still be expected to handle someone of Banbula's level comfortably rather than get into a life and death struggle with him. What is difficult to understand about that?
As for expressing your opinions, I notice you've managed to completely contradict yourself. You criticise me for assuming you're a man, but then can't accept the fact that you made a similar assumption regarding the number of posters who've actually stepped in the ring on this forum.
Maybe stop and think a bit before posting next time eh?
