Mmm. You're right, but it's not quite the same thing Syntax. A bit loopy and mentally ill have very different connotations. Most fighters are a bit loopy to some degree or other in my experience, but I'd never think of them as mentally ill. The bloke shuffling down the street talking to himself is mentally ill, a fighter believing he's going to do this, that or the other, irrespective of evidence to the contrary, is merely a bit loopy. That's my take, anyway.
