Caractacus - Thanks for posting this. :TU:
A couple of things - Did you remember where you got all this information (including his age)?
The reason I ask is that in several places I have read that Sullivan was 34 for the Corbett fight. However, if you look at his birthday (October 15, 1858) you can see that he was only 33 when the Corbett fight took place on September 7, 1892.

Obviously not a big deal, but I have always found it interesting.
Probably more important, if the tale of the tapes are correct, then Sullivan's waist went from 34 to 38 from the Kilrain fight to the Corbett fight; indicating that he was in better shaper for Kilrain, which dos support what I have read.

Jake Kilrain

height 5 ft 10 "
weight 210 lbs
chest 41 inches

biceps 16 inches
forearm 14 inches

waist 34 inches
thigh 25 inches
calf 16.5 inches

shoe size-size 9

coller size 17 "
I found this other Tale of the Tape of Sullivan from 1979 Ring Record Book:

Height......... 5'10¼"
Weight.........196 lbs
Reach..........74 in.
Chest, Nor... 43 in
Chest, Exp.. 48 in.
Waist.......... 36 in.
Biceps.........16¼ in.
Neck............18 in.
Wrist............ 8 in.
Calf..............16 in.
Ankle........... 9 in.
Thigh........... 24 in.
Fist...............14 in.
Forearm.......13 in.

His fist size seems to have changed drastically, I wonder when these were taken. What's the source for those measurements?

John Sullivan's or Jake Kilrains fist ?
I think the source I got that from was
John L. Sullivan's autobiography
AMERICAN GLADIATOR
which was published just before his fight with Corbett..
