Yeah, I'm with *. What do people expect from Wlad when put in front of someone with Haye. If he did nothing he would be rattled, too. Haye's different from the likes of Wlad's previous opponents.

by rattled i simply mean out of his comfort zone.
Haye's different from the likes of Wlad's previous opponents
exactly! i'm not saying that this means that Wlad will lose or anything but davids different approach is clearly affecting wlad....whether that will ultimately lead to a beating for haye or a loss for wlad remains to be seen...
If he did nothing he would be rattled, too.
yes...and yesterday was a case of klit tryin to regain control...up til now wlads been reacting to haye and not the other way round. yesterday wlad brought some new flavours to the table for haye to taste - flattery and respect and civility....in MY opinion haye didnt respond...and strategically this was the correct move. don't let the other guy set the agenda.

it was cute from wlad tho and not, i'd imagine, what haye was expecting.

Perhaps Haye didn't know how to respond? Perhaps he's a one-trick pony (insults, threats, etc) who doesn't know what to do when his trick doesn't work?

the correct response was how he responded...ie ignore it.

if he'd have shaken wlads hand then he woulda been doin what wlad wanted him to...

haye's approach is as much about convincing himself as anyone else....a la the GOAT.

and his 'trick' did work in any case....wlad was not acting how he normally would.

that's all it's about...

Agree. I think DH has been imagining Wlad over and over as the dazed & confused sap he's seen ( many times ) floundering on the canvas against Sanders. Then the reality of the HUGE, confident and very assured man he met yesterday may have rattled him.
It's all very well "beating" a big hapless lump like Valuev, as DH constantly reminds everyone, but Wlad is a million miles away from the big Russian. He's massive, co ordinated, experienced, smart, hits like a mule and has a better chin than DH too.
He also throws a hell of a lot more punches, and hits way harder than Valuev.

If Haye's win over Valuev is an indication of how he is going to fight against Wlad - then he's going to lose.

Haye has to get inside Wlad's jab early on, once Wlad gets into a rhythmn with the jab, it's nigh on impossible to get near him.
I thinki the single biggest factor in the fight is Wlad's experience. He's probably in his prime now with the combination of physicality, experience, and tools. He's learnt how to spoil when on the inside, learnt how to keep range, and most importantly, how to take away his o[poonents tools and make them fight to his style.

That really is a touch of class. It's not hard to imagine what may have happened if the boot was on the other foot

Mmm. Thought it was a one o'clock kick off. They've probably cancelled the fight again then, double bad back syndrome.

Is Adam Smith hosting it, like he did the Haye-Harrison presser? Or have they taken the fight to Primetime, there's been this rumour going round ...

No one's hosting yet. Just showing Haye smiling and shaking hands with Ash Sexton. Not seen Smith nor Wlad yet.
