Sadly got to the pub late and missed the undercard. Was surprised with the Rabah win. Sounds like Cameron?vea was a good stoush. As for the main- Danny taken to school by a better boxer and the southpaw curse. He was farked at the end. Fair call ,by i think his brother. Had Green winning 1 round. Just. Think he fought the wrong fight and the round 2 KD was a bad omen. Though i did feel once or twice he had Tarver hurt with head shots-he just didnt follow up.Even if he did he would of been countered. Sad to see but predictable. I guess now Green may just do the domestic thing. I really hope he has another run. In fairness to him he took some shots that would of kod most and that last barrage was nasty. Whatever he does-stay away from southpaws.

Rematch-hmmmm. Cant see the point.

While i am sure he will be ridiculed now ,which is sad, i will always remember him for being one of the most ferocious mongrel fighters i have seen who made the best of relatively limited natural talent. He is a tough man and i am well sure Tarver will be feeling sore tomorrow.

Tarver, to his credit , put on a display of boxing,jabbing and counterpunching. And was very gracious in victory. Fair play to him.

Despite weighing more, Green looked much the smaller man in the ring. I had Tarver up 88-84 after the 9th, 5 rounds to Tarver, 2 to Green, 1 even (round 1) and Green knocked down in round 2.

Green-Cameron suddenly makes sense.

Cameron-Vea was a very good fight. I had Cameron ahead 106-103 coming into the 12th, but Vea was coming on strong. Vea was completely out, good win for Cameron.

Sad to see that happen to Green, Tarver fought the perfect fight tonight and Green didn't fight as though he was thinking he could win.

Cameron is actually logical, and it's power vs power so it suits Green, i'm still shocked at how the events happened.

Vea tried hard and honsetly thought the fight was up for grabs going into the final round, but congrats to Cameron, he took a lot of shots in some of those rounds and proved he could overcome.

Green to step upto the plate against Cameron How about Cameron finally beats a world ranked fighter and earn a payday ;;-)

Did anyone notice that every Australian that fought tonight, fought like a deer in headlights. I'm sorry but thats the first time in a longtime that I've been that frustrated with my countrymen.

I've not seen Cameron fight i know he was a heavy before so i'd imagine Green would be the much faster fighter if they fought.

i still Rebah was the highlight. Great fight between Cameron and Vea aswell though

Dawg- i think the "deer in headlights" and the "fighting like he wasnt going to win" comments are spot on. Think he was hurt in the first by the big shot that sent him across the ring, then KD in the second and from there on I think he was avioding getting KOd. Think he knew if he went for it he would get countered badly and big. That one round, the 8th(i think) he did have Tarver hurt. Just didnt pounce. No mongrel left?? Is that what Fenech brought out in him?? But then Beyer 2. Hmmm.His style(successful style) just doesnt hold up coz at the higher weight his chin just wont carry him for a whole fight? Cameron fight does now make sense.

Congrats to Tarver. Class act. A very young 42. The "Mongrel Style" works when there's not much comeing back. Good stoppage, Green was on the verge of being seriously hurt. I would like to see Danny retire, he owes his fans nothing,he has given them a good ride. His courage and heart is undisputable but to continue against top tier cruisers would be a serious risk to his health imo.

does anybody know if there was a rematch clause in the contract? green fought the worng fight trying to outbox and counterpunch. when he pressured tarver and put him on the back foot he nealy stopped him, if he can keep the pressure on from the outset in a rematch i think he can turn the tables.

green did that for 2 minutes only and tarver was in big trouble, he admitted it. the better man won on the night, but it wouldn't shock if green won a rematch.

Danny Green has been fighting over the hill fighting for years. 4 of his last 5 fights and still you aussies pay to see him. Roy Jones (39) Siaca (34) lost in 4 earlier world title shots and even an interim title shot to Silvio Branco of all boxers, infact the fighter that he beat for a world title was probably the only man more over-rated than Danny Green (Anthony Mundine) Paul Briggs - oh my god, 34 years old and hadn't fought for 3 and a half years. And finally Tarver (42)who let's face it made Green look amateurish at the best of times. Do I think Cameron will knock Green out? Yes, I think Green is totally gone now, but will probably have one more pay per view in him and Cameron would make financial sense.
